  1. Describe one way that Milton Bradley's presence on the Cubs roster would affect Lee's ability to hit (I seem to recall he hit pretty good this year), pitch/catch or run. Describe one way that a professional athlete making millions of dollars would allow their hatred for a teammate to affect his play on the field. Just one. Well "by committing murder" has been nominated. So has "by committing rape". Those seem just as silly to me as "by acting like a jerk". You think it's silly to not want to cheer on a rapist? Most ballplayers are jerks, very few are convicted rapists or murderers.
  2. If you insist on using wins they should go to the player who contributed the most to the victory. It's best to just never use wins.
  3. Then he'd put them out of business for eating all the stock. (Fat jokes are stupid, but I'm going to keep making them til Silva is gone.)
  4. Sure, if he killed somebody, or raped a chick or something like that I would strongly advise not bringing him back to the team. Why that's not going to make his teammates hit any worse or forget how to catch the ball etc etc so who cares what he does off the field. Right? There's a canyon between raping a girl and being grumpy enough to piss off the rich guys you work with.
  5. Well he's the size of one of those Macy's baloons does that help?
  6. So you admit you hate him cause he hurt your feelings. I'm glad somebody will. He's a fat piece of [expletive]. He should be shot into the sun.
  7. Carlos Silva
  8. He was a PR nightmare on the team that cares more about PR than almost any team in sports. You don't have to like it, but it doesn't make it untrue. No more criticism of any team doing anything. Cause that's just the way they are.
  9. At least I can feel I have something in common with a player who hates Cubs fans.
  10. Not counting rookies/minor leaguers called up who might have been worse? Sean Estes Silva's worse.
  11. The day before David Patton went on the DL. Or maybe the last day Jeff Samardzija was listed on the roster. Silva's worse.
  12. The best thing is that in addition to being the worst player in the majors, Silva is an [expletive] who blamed everyone else on the Mariners when things started to go wrong.
  13. I expected to not be paying 7.5M a year to the worst player in the majors.
  14. In one of the better pitching parks to boot. With a good 3/4 of an IF defense.
  15. This is dumb even for the Cubs. At least we'll have a fun GM search next offseason.
  16. Do you want to take that back or are you sticking by your statement: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/cubs-mariners-talking-bradley-trade.html Oh, please let me take it back, MLBTR posted a new rumor talking about it. Just click on the Milton Bradley tag at the bottom of the article and see 30 other rumors.
  17. I don't believe we'd trade Bradley for Silva. I'm chalking that one up to one of the other 100 other rumors with no basis.
  18. Holy [expletive] if Podsednik is actually our opening day leadoff man/CF, I'm gonna watch like 5 games all year.
  19. He's not going to take Mike Fontenot and turn him into Chase Utley or anything, but I think he will help with the hitter's consistency, quickly finding flaws in their swings and adjusting it before it turns into a prolonged slump. Will be interesting to see what he can do with Soriano and Fukudome, 2 hitters that have been known to fall badly away from their swing mechanics from time to time. \ gerald perry and von joshua were already considered among the best hitting coaches. rudy's contribution will be negligible. Different strategies. You can have the 3 best hitting coaches in baseball, and only one can be a fit for certain players.
  20. Yeah Knight reminds me of my dad too. I kinda feel like if you grew up with a white haired dad, that it's hard to not like Bobby Knight.
