  1. Pretty sure Kansas is waiting on Beal.
  2. Yep, nobody gave a [expletive] about the Cavs til he got there.
  3. Wouldn't you need an extremely deep pitching staff for that to work? It seems like it's putting a lot more on the 9th-12th guys on a staff compared to modern pen usage.
  4. It's not so much about NJ rehiring Cal, as it is how much does Cal want to go back to the Nets organization? At this point, I would say there is little chance of him returning to the Nets organization. Again, why?
  5. Why wouldn't the Nets hire Cal again? Is there anyone still in the organization that was there last time he coached?
  6. There are 2 on the current team.
  7. Russel's 3 scoreless innings to start the year are gonna keep him on this roster all year aren't they.
  8. I've got some spare Celtics stuff if you guys wanna look the part. A very nice Sheed shersey maybe?
  9. Why would you waste energy hating the Cavs your entire life? Craig Ehlo just too smarmy for you?
  10. Is that hard to believe? If those who believe the Bulls will not LBJ for really weak reasons (ie MJ's legacy, or the idea of "New York") then yes, they are anti-Bulls. But if someone can legitimately come with a strong argument to suggest tht LBJ won't go to the Bulls, then no I wouldn't consider then anti-Bulls. Until you start giving me a strong argument as to why Lebron won't stay in Cleveland, I'm considering you anti-Cavs
  11. Just so we're clear, anyone who doesn't think the Bulls will get LBJ is being anti-Bulls?
  12. People aren't talking about Boston, because everyone's too proud to admit I was right about Rondo.
  13. It's not like he'd have to live there.
  14. Beasley doesn't have an ungodly contract though. And I like him going forward more than I like Deng.
  15. Michael wouldn't have done that.
  16. I hear Lebron started that fire.
  17. Unless they know he's not coming back no matter what. Luol Deng is worth nothing. You'd rather get nothing for Lebron that Deng's albatross contract.
  18. The Knicks are also a giant cluster [expletive]
  19. i don't really get the point of these comments. people have this memory of jordan who would singlehandedly will his team to victory in the playoffs - and yes, he usually took the last shot - but he had good players around him and that's why they won. lebron has mediocre players around him and doesn't win. maybe he's not as good as jordan but it's dumb to denigrate him against a guy who clearly had a better supporting cast. No Truffle, he actually did singlehandedly will his team to victory. He walked on the court with 3 seconds left down by 2, and the women swooned, the men kissed his feet, and he calmly knelt at 3/4 court and swished it. Blindfolded. Doing it all with the confidence of somebody who's done it 1000 times before. BECAUSE HE HAD. After the shot he went over shook his opponents hands and told them to buck up, tomorrow is another day. Besides it's just sports after all. He casually exited the arena with his loving wife at his side and went home to hear about how her and the kids' day went. Cause that's just how Michael was.
  20. Yeah, great 10 seconds tonight JJ
  21. Rondo's so [expletive] good.
  22. How are Lopez and Harris on D?
  23. Every GM has made bad trades, not nearly as many have acquired talent like Lee, Ramirez, Lofton, Harden, Nomar, Karros and Grudz for guys who have done little in the majors. With the exceptions of the Maddux and Pierre trades, Hendry's bad trades have consisted of trading decent to solid bullpen guys (Cruz, Wuertz) for players who didn't turn out. Those are bad trades, but are overshadowed by the very good trades. Like TT said, I'm not arguing that Hendry has been great. I'm not even defending Hendry in any way. I think it's time for a new GM. I just don't see what the big deal is about discussing good trades he's made and how, overall, he's good at pulling off trades. That's exactly my point. It's not the end of the world if he's fired, but it bothers me that posters just can't look at both sides of a discussion. Also, be careful what you wish for. Everyone wanted Baker gone and most thought Piniella was a great hire. Now we have threads on firing Lou because he's an idiot. Despite the fact that in '06 I said Baker > Piniella, Baker's not even close to as good a manger as Piniella is. Piniella has some serious serious faults, but Dusty Baker is one of the worst managers in baseball.
