  2. Yeah that seems like the obvious breakdown.
  3. No. Every conference would love to have either of those teams. but every conference would pick Texas first without a second thought. And I'm not so sure the Big Ten would take them. Especially if they aren't attached to Texas you mean now that they have 12 or instead of Nebraska? Well I meant now, but yes both.

  5. Aren't we talking about value to a conference? Is there any conference that would pause for a second when having a choice between Texas and Oklahoma?
  6. yeah, i think hyperbole has made it more difficult, but foulacy's ultimate conclusion is right: there is no big 3 in the Big 12. OU/Texas are alone at the top. Well, Texas is alone at the top.
  7. I consider the beginning the first 5 1/2 months of the season.
  8. minor league career vs lhp: 0.277/0.308/0.460/0.768 minor league career vs rhp: 0.276/0.324/0.461/0.785 Fine. He can't hit righties either
  9. OU basketball is relevant because they set a record for money spent on a below 500 team.
  10. If Chris Paul was so good, he'd have 2 functional knees.
  11. It's not like he's got great peripherals, he was pretty lucky to have that ERA entering today.
  12. That's not why he's better
  13. before last season's flukey shoulder injury, ramirez had accumulated 500 or more ABs in 7 of the last 8 seasons. except for 2005, 2006, 2007, and 2008 Actually, his career OPS in May is .747, which is quite a bit less than is .859 career OPS in his 2nd worth month, August. I think it's fair to say that he starts out slow. Considering his March/April OPS is 6 points off of his career total, I'd say it's pretty strange to say he starts slow. Considering his March/April and May career OPS is .804 compared to a career OPS of .902 for every other month, I'd say it's pretty strange to say that he doesn't start slow. You said he starts slow, yet his OPS drops 100 points from the first month to the 2nd month. I'm going to say he middles slow.
  14. Maybe if Mizzou had a charismatic leader like Mike Sherman you could be on their level.
  15. So...basically Texas could decide next week to leave after all? With each new leak about the new Big 12, Beebe comes off a bigger buffoon. This is awesome. I don't understand how anyone agreed to this. Truly baffling. You can come up with some sort of possible explanation for the most (KU being saddled to KSU, A&M being saddled to the other Texas schools, BU, ISU, OSU, KSU, and TT having no redeemable qualities, Texas and Oklahoma keeping the status quo or better, but what the hell is Mizzou doing? Or are they still actively looking for anyone to take them, and figure it's better to have this deal than to let the conference collapse and force their hand to find a new home.

  17. But how greedy are the Big 3 going to get? How much do the little brothers know their role? With an unequal payout system already in place, I have a hard time seeing Texas not heading back to renegotiate their slice a few more times before somebody (Mizzou, or one of OU or A&M) has enough.

  19. He also said that Nebraska and Colorado were wise to get out when they could. We'll see what kind of rules are put in place to prevent other schools from bolting, but I agree with him. Man...those schools were truly terrified of life after the Big 12. can't say i blame them. if the reported deal is true, baylor and iowa st stand to make $15 million in tv revenue. nobody cares about those schools and nobody is tuning in to watch them on tv. if not for the coattails of the real teams in that conference, they'd make about 15 dollars in tv revenue. Is that with or without the MyBaylorTV revenues?
  20. That's cute Texas Tech thought the Pac 10 actually wanted them.
  21. But the numbers when examined closely don't have him on the bubble.
  22. Chipper Jones is a slam dunk hall of famer.
