    I'd think maintaining a level of success at one position would help just as much if not more than happening to be in an organization that failed enough at the major league level to need a new manager. I mean what now, does he hold out only for AAA managing jobs where the manager is on the hot seat to start the season? How many AAA managing jobs are even open in a given year?

    How often are AAA managers promoted to interim/full-time managers within the same organization??

    Really? All the talk is about them lowering payroll. Not sure if that means from Opening Day last year's number or end of the season number, but either way, adding a $13 million a year player doesn't seem like it fits in the lowering payroll mantra, especially when there's more than one hole on the team. I know it's heresy to suggest last year's team wasn't a 110 loss flaming pile of poop, but 1B is the only gaping hole on the team that can't be filled internally

    Who was assuming that? You said they didn't underperform because they played 2 games better than Pythagoras. How is one supposed to take that?

    Yes, but Butch wasn't ready to play as a frosh. Jereme is. And he is. And he will. I have little doubt Jereme will be playing the majority of the minutes by the UNC game. He played 17 tonight, 25ish sounds about right when he gets in the flow.

    is it the crowd, or is the way the staidum sounds on tv? i've never been there, but i have definitely noticed how quiet bulls games are on tv. hawks too. I've only been to one game there, for the playoffs vs. Cleveland, but it was deathly quiet. I feel like NBA crowds in general are quieter than any other sport. I remember watching the Thunder/Lakers series last year and I thought the roof was gonna get blown off for the games in OKC. Same with the old Arco Arena crowds when the Kings were good. Well yeah, but aren't they more the exceptions than the rule? How many stadiums actually get loud for a regular season game? How do you turn that over????

    I just think it sends an interesting message to future recruits. A McDonalds All American is setting behind Billy freaking Cole. Our last two Mr. Basketballs can't start for us. I hope it doesn't last much longer. So you think Paul and Richmond should both start now. Nope. But either one should start over Billy Cole. You pretty much have to start McDonalds All Americans, unless you are Duke or UNC and have other ones in front of them. Or if you start Brandon Paul over him. Or you're Wisconsin and you redshirt him.

    Cole played fine, I have no issue with keeping a carrot out there for Jereme for a few more games.
