    To defend Weber a bit, he went all spazzy because the media and coach hairpiece's adoring fans wouldn't let go of him. Self's southern charm won them all over, and they weren't going to like the dorky Purdue guy coming in to replace him. You still see the cult of Self operating here and there amongst Illinois media and fans. It's a really strange phenomenon.

    Sports Information Director says Weber will stay, announcement later today. I never bought it to begin with and I'm not sure our current budgetary concerns would allow us to make the hire I'd want anyway. I just really hope this didn't get him an extension/raise, because he certainly doesn't deserve one for the last 2 seasons.

    don't you predict like 40 rainouts or snowouts a year? the high temperature is forecast to be 47 degrees; snow tends to not fall when the temperature is 15 degrees above freezing. We all don't have degrees in weatherography

    I don't hate Gottlieb like the rest of the planet, but I'm pretty sure the Champaign beat writer would know better who has talked to Weber than Gottlieb.

    Lyles ties to Petterson are finally coming out. Petterson's fathers comments are not going to be helpful towards LSU who has a long history with Lyles. It's also been long reported he had ties to Bennett and Goodson. This might also force A&M to stay away from Trey Williams and Matt Davis in this next years class who have both already been connected to Lyles. Between LSU and Auburn the sec [expletive] is finally starting to hit the fan. Are they just going to retroactively award the last 10 football and basketball titles to Vanderbilt then?

    Paul Klee (Champaign beat writer) mentioned it as a job he'd be more likely to take than Purdue when it was assumed Painter was gone. I don't get it at all.
