    LOL at the Cubs. Although, didn't we get Baker for him? Baker has been very good with the Cubs. And the team we traded him to let him walk as a minor league free agent. No reason to LOL at the Cubs anymore than 28 other teams.

    Z's 18M for next year is cheaper than buying an 18M/Y free agent on the market because it's essentially a one year deal at this point.

    Yeah including Soriano and Grabow, but ignoring Pena seems really strange. Pena is probably the Cubs' best trade chip, unless they make Soto available. He said it was a list of guys that could be acquired just by taking the contract. Pena would require actual talent in return most likely.

    Hardaway has done a lot to try and turn things around. How much of it is purely PR is unknown, but I know he's done something with the Trevor Project. And yeah, it's too bad they couldn't get more players. I'm kind of surprised Carlos Pena wasn't in it. Out of curiosity, why Carlos Pena? He's educated.

    30 in this non steroid era is ancient. They should be lucky to get back brett gardner or ryan theriot clone. And it's not just that he's 30 ... it's that he's got the arm of a 35 year old. Where can I find the age adjustment scales for steroids and arms?
