  1. Wouldn't the Houston/Texas rivalry be enough to tide them over? Certainly Milwaukee would have seen it similarly. It was that Milwaukee/Chicago instant rivalry that surely was very attractive. And it's worked out exceptionally well. Were the Brewers and White Sox ever considered rivals? I know the Brewers and Twins were. Yes, big time.
  2. ESPN's rankings are really bad. They may be improving now that they hired away Scout's guy, but they've never been worth a damn before. Also the 2012 class is historically awful. It's why Orris is a giant waste of time.
  3. http://bloximages.chicago2.vip.townnews.com/siouxcityjournal.com/content/tncms/assets/editorial/9/1a/d86/91ad86a5-346b-5b5d-8d12-704eef930a56-revisions/4d03f915b44bb.image.jpg I can't possibly imagine why Leonard would be laughing at Woodbury:
  4. Considering that silly recruit is rated higher, grades out the same, is taller and heavier, I'm not sure why Leonard would be laughing at him. Rated higher where exactly? Cause it ain't Rivals or Scout.
  5. well that's certainly a bad article. Excellent critique, sir. I think I was most impressed by the article's sources.
  6. i like this one... a year after the cubs finish 15 or 20 games below .500, you're suggesting that they might be the #2 team in the national league, without having any knowledge about what the cubs do in the offseason. If you think the Cubs can win the Central next year, it's really not too far fetched.
  7. Got any eligibility left?
  8. What in God's name made you think you could buy an airplane ticket the week of your flight for $100?
  9. [expletive] huge Literally. He is 7' 1.25" for those that don't know. still not taller than nick smith Congrats Iowa, you got somebody almost as good as Nick Smith.
  10. Any Bloomington IN people know where I could watch this game?
  11. still pissed he ended up not wrestling at Iowa I owe-uh Zack 10 bucks?
  12. No, I'm saying your Japanese trade idea is bad and you should feel bad for suggesting it. I don't see why. LaHair isn't going to have any big league trade value, and he has little value to us in AAA if they chosen Colvin over him. If it were a cash transaction, we'd get, what something like a mil, which I think is what we got for Hoffpauir. I think that if we were to get a player or 2 instead that would be of greater value. BUT THE PLAYER IN RETURN WILL BE WORSE THAN LAHAIR BY YOUR OWN ADMISSION.
  13. Maybe Tony Mitchell will qualify by then.

  15. Bryan LaHair for Yu Darvish. Seriously though, I brought this up when Scales went to Japan, but would there ever be a scenerio in which there could be player trades with Japan or other nations rather than just cash. It would be an interesting scenerio, as there are a lot of Bryan LaHairs out there who could fare better in Japan than they ever would in the US. Obviously, they wouldn't want to send over their top young players, but some fringe guys who would be interested in coming over. A player exchange program if you will. So not a star like Bryan LaHair would be, but a fringe guy. Guys like LaHair have a pretty good track record in the land of the rising run. Right, so you don't want to aim too high and ask for someone at his level in return. Somebody worse than Bryan LaHair please.
  16. If the Cubs screw the fans, particularly combo plan holders, with night games April 9, 10, and 11, I'm punching someone. What do you want them to do schedule day games that nobody will attend?
  17. I liked the Fri-Sat-Sun start much better, though anything beats Mon-Wed-Thurs
  18. Come on Mizzou fans, chime in so we can have the trifecta of boring teams nobody cares about.

  20. Argh...I took 7 upsets (and way too many road teams) according to my Yahoo confidence pool. Pittsburgh Oakland Arizona Tampa Bay New York Jets New Orleans Green Bay Baltimore Detroit Indianapolis San Francisco Denver New England Houston Atlanta St. Louis
  21. With any luck, nobody will ever mention him again.
  22. Figured I was toast heading into tonight, wasn't even watching. Now 7 points from Matt Prater gets me a win. And that'll be 7. Thank you Wes Welker. (Nobody cares about my fantasy team)
  23. It's cool, I missed out on picking up Janikowski as my kicker because I wasted a week on Louis [expletive] Murphy.
