  1. How? I think its a top 15 program. Even if all of the teams on abucks list were better than us. That still puts us at 15. I mean sure his list is awful, he didn't include Indiana in it, but even using it we are right at 15. Clearly the job isn't that great otherwise they wouldn't have crapped the bed on the coaching search, but you keep changing conversations between historical rankings, current ratings and how good the job is. By getting our third choice? Did Gunether crap the bed when he got Self? Because he wasn't his first choice. We still got a young coach that was in demand and would have been in more demand in one year. Wait, you don't honestly believe that Croce was your third choice, do you? Our beat reporter in Champaign put him at a tie for best odds with Shaka after the round of 64. Just because people in Iowa haven't heard of him doesn't mean he wasn't on our AD's radar. Our AD has running water too.
  2. We were ranked the number 6 program all time by the Saragin ratings. So good. Iowa was #10 That was a typo.
  3. Why would you wonder about that because of Kruger and Self? Try harder next time.
  4. McCamey's a really poor example of Weber's poor coaching.
  5. I wear my Tebow Broncos jersey like 3 times a week.
  6. They're one Zeller away from a bottom third finish. Hopefully he wises up and cashes in. I don't know, Gary Harris is probably going to be an impact freshman.
  7. They're one Zeller away from a bottom third finish. Hopefully he wises up and cashes in. he will be there all 4 years. Then he's as dumb as he looks. I guess if he blows out a knee his big bro can throw him some cash. I don't think he will leave early barring an IU title. The Zellers stay in school. Plus I don't think his game will translate all that well to the NBA. Luke Zeller stayed in school because he sucked. Tyler wasn't any good until his junior year.
  8. Next year will definitely be better now that they got rid of Watford.
  9. Oh, I didn't read that lunacy
  10. I'm just shocked he doesn't think Stewart is the worst hitter in the lineup
  11. Thanks UK, I remembered Donovan, and the dalliance with Calipari, but couldn't get names on the others.
  12. I didn't even know who Eddie Fogler was. Missing on him is more embarrassing than if Groce turned us down.
  13. What jobs do you think Brad Stevens and Shaka Smart would accept if offered?
  14. It's arbitrary rotation numbers time!!! With your host BacktoBanks
  15. what are you asking? How you can say "obviously this job isn't that great when you were rejected by your 1st 2 options, and wound up with a meh candidate." Was UNC 2000 obviously not a great job? Was UK 2007 obviously not a great job? I thought Matt Doherty was considered a home run and Gillispie a pretty damn good hire? Doherty was like their 6th choice.
  16. How many of those jobs would Smart And Stevens leave for? 4? 5?

  18. I know I was being snarky, but does anyone care to address the disconnect between UNC 2000 and Kentucky 2007 compared to Illinois 2012 with their respective hires?
  19. I never weighed in one way or another. IL definitely has a better recruiting base, but my amended list would seem to pretty clearly put Louisville ahead.
  20. North Carolina was the 842nd best program in the country in 2000.
  21. Oof, forgot revenue. Put that first.
  22. We were ranked the number 6 program all time by the Saragin ratings. So good. so when you hired your most recent coach, you got the sixth best coach in the nation, right? Kentucky was the 75th best program in the country in 2007. let's hear your criteria for what makes a good job too, while we're at it. Recruiting base, History, Fan support. In that order.
