    Without looking, I'm willing to bet that last nights game was the first time in the last 15 games that Kobe shot 54%. http://www.basketball-reference.com/boxscores/201205100DEN.html I stand corrected. My point is Kobe shot much lower then 54% all season. So did every guard and all but 7 players in the entire league.

    Barney didn't have a 2nd season in AA. That .339 is his combined OBP in 2009. And again you're using a hilariously small sample to attempt to show a "trend." Barney's improvement to .400 was over 15 PAs. obp normalizes in 30ab which is twice 15pas and 30 is the numnber you need for a good smaple in statistics so 30pas will be fine here the .420ob% was there4 at least half normal so why isn't barney leading off or at least champagnea So we should expect Barney to put up an 800 OBP?

    Batting order doesn't really matter. The fact that he's playing just about every day kind of negates the notion that he's been "jettisoned" in any way shape or form. this is good to know because all this years we have complained about our leadoff guy, and made fun of managers that wanted to put Soriano there, all along it really never mattered. I know you are just jumping in halfway through, so please understand..I have not said anything about anyone being better. I only wondered why it seems that Barney is getting moved out. Instead of ridicule, a great answer may have been- They see Barney as an 8 hole hitter in the future on hopefully a much better team. OK, that would make sense. My question was why is he sent to 8th, when other players are doing far worse than Barney has done. I also wondered why he has been out of the lineup now 6 times over the last 19 games despite his stat line going up. To me it seems like they are working to replace him. I can certainly think of many other spots that seem to be much more glaring weakness comparatively. He's been out of the lineup 5 times over the last 19 games. He's been out of the lineup 7 times all freaking year, and he's Darwin Barney.

Colorado can bump up guys' numbers, but you're talking about it like ballplayers there are like Superman getting a suntan. Just because someone doesn't put it together in Colorado doesn't mean they can't have success elsewhere.     When his luck normalizes what line can I expect? I'm too lazy to check and I think a lot of people here know anyway so I don't mind asking. I do think they should fix the OF and pitching before 3B since Stewart has some shot to be a decent role player in a more talented lineup. he's hit .233 over SIX SEASONS. his best is 259. all of this in the best hitters park in baseball. you know what that tells me? He's a .233 or below hitter! unless he juices or sells his soul a'la joe hardy (ask your dad about that reference) unless he can play multiple infield positions or outfield-which I am not sure he can, I don;t know how he would be useful to a serious contender Let's go ahead and ignore that he had 491 PAs on a playoff team in 2009.

    Impossible to say before seeing how he turns out this season. Assuming his luck normalizes, I'd say 2-3 seasons.

    I didn't say that. But they need to spend on impact players and sprinkle in some low risk high reward guys to supplement it not try to nickel and dime the team back to relevance. Soooooo trade Garza???? If they're going to spend, then extend Garza. If they plan to do a rebuild from the primarily from the farm, picking up Ian Stewarts and Chris Volstads along the way then you trade Garza for the right price. We could probably get 3 very good prospects. He's really all we have as far as valuable trade chips. Dempster will bring back something, but as a rent a player nothing close to what Garza would. Sooooooo 60 million dollar payroll

    Of course they do, and why would you still want them to trade Garza? If they don't plan on opening the check book in the next year or 2, we almost have to trade Garza as long as he'd bring back 3 guys who could help in the next 2 years. Again, that's if they don't plan on spending. Yeah, if they don't plan on spending on good players, our best course of action is to trade away our good players. [expletive]
