    Yep. Freakin Sveum was put on the cover of the schedule his first season. (There was the whole Castro rapey thing, moving him off of it, but still. And the tickets were really flying off the shelf. Oh, no, it would be a spectacular failure, hence the continued loss of revenue and payroll

    That stinks. No way you can drop the cost/downgrade and then just aggressively sell next year if need be to keep yourself in the picture? Possibly, but I doubt it; it's looking like me and one other guy left right now. Unless we can just get something dirt cheap in a corner somewhere I think the timing just wasn't right. Weren't you on a full season plan? I'd have to think they'll take whatever they can get this year, and would let you drop down to a combo in shittier seats.

    I can't imagine they'd let you come early. I'd think you could come on 12/6 whenever, or if you have someone in the area, you can send a proxy.

    12/7 at 11:00. They've opened up the bowl seating to combo plans this year. Interesting. I had combo in the bowl last season. Well apparently I don't remember anything about last season

    Also notice there are a lot of games they've put split pricing in, giving bleacher seats a lower tiered price than the rest of the bowl.

    That's different. That's a guy showing up from the minors in the middle of the season. Anyone who doesn't follow the minors(or noticed his cups of coffee with Houston) is going to assume he's a prospect. Maddon is one of the most visible managers out there, and he's continuously led a team of kids to the playoffs, so he knows how to win the right way (by not spending any money) Nevermind that the morons will do as their sportswriter overlords tell them to, and dumb as those guys may be, they know Maddon

    And the Girardi rumors were hevily rumored to be at the request of Ricketts looking to make a splash. I don't think it's an outrageous jump considering all the talk about how Ricketts can't lose a dollar at any point combined with the huge loss of revenue last year, that this is his brilliant idea to convince people we're trying while continuing to slash major league payroll It's all a media driven narrative. Just because Ricketts may have favored a certain candidate doesn't mean he was actually pressuring Theo to do something he didn't want to do. ABTY is the media?

    While I have done that if I have a conflict prior to the start of the game, I would never do that by choice. It sucks for watching football. Although it works great for baseball. You can watch any game on 2-3 times speed and just hit play whenever you think you see something interesting happen. It also works with hockey. Football is the only sport where I see it working. It's like the skip ahead 30 seconds button was created just for that. Can catch an entire game in a half hour that way.

    It's funny because the news makes you think the payroll go way down! You don't see the connection between ownership pushing for a celebrity manager coinciding with continuing to spend no money on the actual team?

    Seems optimistic since renovations and TV deals won't be set until 2019
