  1. Am I insane or didn't half the Cardinals pitchers in the mid 2000s have giant glops of pine tar on their hats
  2. On several levels. #10-90Raffles #Bullpencatcherforaday #Everythingmustgo #PoorTomRicketts
  3. Or Invesco Field if not for Brian Griese. Maybe they foresaw that Peyton Manning would play there some day.
  4. Who knows if PNC Park ever would've been built if not for Todd Ritchie.
  5. Hahaha, no they funded it because of a 32 year old QB.
  6. Peyton Manning is a backwoods hick. He's likable because he's the best QB of all time.
  7. HE JUST WANTS HIM TO BE PROUD OF HIM
  8. Joe Buck is ready to tell me that this has been produced by Arne Harris and directed by Joe Cornejo.
  9. It'd be a nice way to experience my 40s
  10. Yes, he'll do quite well for himself at Stanley's
  11. Let's just hope their legal team is working on contingency.
  12. The only way it's not is if we can't find 40 man space for him while competing in a playoff race.
  13. I'm finding it remarkably easy to root for the Red Sox here.
  14. Maybe just a specific section of Murphy's Bleachers that happens to contain Beth Murphy.
  15. The type of college hitter he was combined with his start to his professional career suggests he could very easily see major league action prior to 2015. It'd be a disappointment if he didn't.
  16. He has to find a library that carries them first.
  17. I agreed with that thinking on Girardi, but should we be curious if the reverse is true? The inability to land Girardi was because we couldn't make any sort of assurance that we'd make a commitment this offseason?
  18. This isn't serious is it? Doesn't seem too far off to me if Trout continues his pace (which would make him one of the greatest players of all-time at the age of 26). As good of a pure baseball player as Trout is, I don't see him being the iconic marketing superstar and revenue magnet that someone is going to pay half a billion dollars for. Nice kid, but not exactly dripping with charisma and personality. Since when do transcendentally great players get huge contracts for their charisma and personality. dafuq? They get their contracts for their speed
  19. Mike Trout reminds pitchcs of Matt Szczur
  20. Team Valuations from Bloomberg Don't know if there's a better place for this, but here goes. Cliffs: -Cubs 6th most valuable franchise at 1.32 Billion. -4th in 2013 Revenue, 5M less than the Dodgers Excuses why we can't spend money -6th overall in media revenue -Only 7M separating the top parking revenue team(Dodgers) from the Cubs (3M) -5 teams with >10M advantage in sponsorship. NL Central Revenues Cubs: 320M Cardinals: 250M Reds: 205M Brewers: 205M Pirates: 185M In what seems a rare occurence in baseball accounting, both the A's and Giants dispute their team valuation here, stating it should be even higher.
  21. If we're spending like we are now in order to cover that contract up front I'd come close to forgiving PoorTomRicketts.
  22. Tanaka's posting + first year might be a push.
  23. To be clear this post is coming from the guy who wanted Dayan Viciedo vomiting all over himself attempting to play the field in Wrigley's LF last year.
