  1. Headless, but still alive Bickell or dead and headed Sharp?
  2. Alcantara might come up in September. Hendricks whenever a pitcher is traded (hopefully they don't just plus Villanueva in the rotation instead). I'd add Vizcaino to your list. Hendricks isn't on the 40 man, I'm skeptical that he gets called up. I'd put odds on it being Villanueva, Rusin, Grimm, maybe a guy they get in return from a trade, even Wada I could see getting added before Hendricks. Being on the 40 man probably won't be an issue at the end of this summer. There are plenty of candidates to be removed. That said, TT is right that Wada is probably ahead of Hendricks in terms of who gets called up. Well that would be terribly disappointing. He's pretty much the only thing I was looking forward to for the last 2 months of the season.
  3. Re: Baez, as much as I find it extremely unlikely he is called up this year, I find it even more unlikely that he'd be called up just for September.
  4. They'll be willing to pay him closer to what he wanted before the season started. That doesn't mean they'll be any closer.

  6. I'm fairly certain Pat has a full on erection right now.
  7. Going so far as to specifically mention players like Berra and Dimaggio and how amazing it was that Jeter had more accumulation stats. Ripping my hair out.
  8. Mooney had a piece on it a little over a month ago.
  9. I usually find you very coherent but this makes no sense to me. If John Baker is getting a double off Tanaka, Olt's single means a lot less to me. And then he runs the bases like a doof on the bunt.
  10. Boy, Baker getting that double followed up by Olt doing that sure puts a damper on any enthusiasm about him.
  11. I missed it, what happened? Standing O, "De-rek Je-ter" chant, people with "Thanks #2" signs, thoroughly disgusting all around. ugh
  12. Well even setting aside that it's silly math considering he's only talking about those 3 specific lotteries rather than winning 3 lotteries out of all of the ones they've been involved in, he's fantastically wrong. I've got them at ~1 in 1676. ETA: Thought he was talking about the LBJ draft, forgot they won with the Clippers pick. Why he's saying Cleveland had a 2.8% chance to get the #1 pick that year rather than 22.7% (The Clips and their spots combined chances) is beyond me.
  13. Gotta help out your best markets.
  14. Derek Jeter on that '98 team? That could have been pretty sweet to replace Jeff Blauser with Jeter. Although the only thing that probably would have accomplished is not needing the play-in game (arguably the greatest event in Cubs history from '84-'02). Probably would have helped them make it a little closer in 2001 as well. Maybe Jeter wouldn't have pissed his pants on those groundballs in the 8th inning of game 6 in 2003. But, yes I do know AGon was probably a better SS glove than Jeter ever could of dreamed of being. That's what I immediately thought of as well. Doubt he chokes like Gonzalez did. Jeter might not even get to that ball
  15. The Celtics and Lakers have missed the playoffs 11 times prior to this season. They've come away with 2 top 5 picks in those 11 instances (One 2 and one 5) Teams that won the lottery with worse chances than the Knicks did with Ewing (which started this whole [expletive] stupid conspiracy theory because they won a draw where all 7 teams had equal chances) 1993 Orlando Magic 2008 Chicago Bulls 2000 New Jersey Nets 2007 Portland Trail Blazers 2005 Milwaukee Bucks 2006 Toronto Raptors 2002 Houston Rockets 1995 Golden State Warriors 2010 Washington Wizards 1991 Charlotte Hornets 1989 Sacramento Kings 2012 New Orleans Hornets Can't fight city hall I guess.
  16. If David Stern were still commissioner, I'd lay big money on Boston or the Lakers Just like when the Celtics got Tim Duncan. I guess at least the Bulls got to enjoy all those years with Dwight Howard. What else do you expect in a league that constantly dicks over cities like San Antonio, Sacramento, Charlotte, Orlando, Milwaukee, Golden State, Houston, Milwaukee, and Toronto?

  19. Here's the article: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cubs/27550054-573/starlin-castro-cant-imagine-starting-career-like-derek-jeter-did.html#.U3umAvldXT8 This is the only thing that's even a passing knock on Castro:
  20. Read into it what you will, I think it's a pretty clear jab at the powers that be for wasting early quality years of Castro. I read that as more of a jab at Castro than the FO. I'm not sure where you get the FO angle given that picture. That is a stretch, even for you. I haven't read the article, but considering it's Wittenmeyer, I'd be shocked if it wasn't about the FO/Ownership
  21. I mean, lol at the Dodgers fans, the team is still getting their TV payout. And yeah, we're probably fucked of course
