  1. Just another reason to hate the crybaby cheater. I get the cheater refrence...but why is he a crybaby? When I was watching the Iowa vs. IU game last week he seemed to be whining excessively to the ref's. I know many coaches cry to the ref's, it just seemed excessive to me. Hence my new name for him the crybaby cheater. Ok, just curious. Nobody in the Big 10 matches Weber when it comes to whining on the sideline though. At least Weber isn't pulling for cancer. Sampson has sunk to a new low. I know you're just kidding, but I really wonder why Sampson wasn't wearing smeakers. He is one of the big guys in Coaches vs. Cancer. He wore dark colored sneakers. He doesn't like cancer. I disagree, Sampson loves cancer.
  2. Just horrible offense down the stretch. Chester Frazier can't play under any sort of pressure. DJ White's a punk.
  3. I'm not one to cheer injuries. But Ed Hightower tore a meniscus, and because of it is not reffing the UW/Iowa game. Anybody know how long a torn meniscus would keep a guy on the shelf?
  4. Every time a team is on the road in this thread, the fans of the team complain about the refs. And Carl Landry is definitely related to Shelden Williams in some way.
  5. So is anybody watching Purdue/OSU?? WCIU in the Chicago area, though Purdue is just about out now.
  6. I really wish this game wasn't on at noon. Visions of sleeping away my day til the afternoon to watch the game are shatttered.
  7. Interesting insight. That would be fun. We've done it the past 2 years on here during the week leading up to selection Sunday. I've found it pretty interesting.
  8. Depends on who you talked to. Some people thought he was just confident, others said he was cocky.
  9. If Northern Iowa wasn't already knocked off the bubble by losing to Indiana St. on Monday, they were tonight by losing at home against Drake.
  10. Elimination game between Cal and Washington the only interesting game on tonight.
  11. Meredith is awesome.
  12. Illinois wins the much discussed NU game rather easily. The big one from the Big 10 tonight was MSU getting killed by Purdue. MSU scored just 12 points in the 2nd half en route to a 24 point loss. They've lost 4 in a row(to be fair none of them easy: 2 with OSU and at U of I) and find themselves firmly on the bubble with a 4-6 Big 10 record. They still have a home and home with Wisconsin left along with IU in East Lansing. Their big wins are neutral against Texas and home against BYU and U of I. They could be in trouble if they drop that home game to IU or falter in any of their games they should win. Other bubble games to take note of: Oklahoma getting a must win over OK St., Creighton surviving a close one against Evansville, Louisville losing at home to G-Town, and KSU getting obliterates by KU.
  13. Somewhat on the topic, one of the few things I really liked about Dusty, was that in the last couple years he wasn't afraid to use Barrett as a pinch hitter and be left with no backup catcher on the bench.
  14. Northern Iowa and Syracuse go a long way towards bursting their bubbles with losses to Indiana St. and UConn respectively.
  15. My football league was through foxsports.com and it was great. Free live stat tracking for everyone in the league. Far superior to yahoo.
  16. Wichita's bubble may have burst with that one. Winning out and a run to the MVC title game would probably put them firmly back in, but that's asking a lot, especially with a road trip to Creighton mixed in. The Valley's depth is probably going to wind up hurting them come Selection Sunday, and I don't see them with more than 3 teams going now, with 2 a very likely possibility. Illinois has a chance to win back to back games for the first time in a long time tonight.
  17. UConn is not a huge road win. 92 RPI, best win over #80 Ole Miss. 2-8 in their last 10. And now I see reggiemiller posted the same sentiment.
  18. Pohlad has money but he doesn't spend it. The twins haven't really lost anyone of importance because of money issues since Ortiz, and that was more of a he won't stop getting hurt issue than anything else. He also wasn't exactly DAVID ORTIZ at the time. They've extended Radke, Stewart, and Hunter, and were even the recipients of a salary dump this year with Castillo. They will never be big players in the FA market under Pohlad, but they have kept who they've wanted to(possible exception of Latroy Hawkins?)
  19. I bet the Twins sign all 3 long term. Don't they have new ballpark financing in the works? That and Pohlad is a bajillioinaire.
  20. Boo. Thanks, Bruce. Looking like we are set with Jaque then? For the foreseeable future anyway. If possible, could you define forseeable future?
  21. He was pretty consistently decent for the Mets as well.
  22. Paulus is pretty bad.
  23. They sandwiched a win against horrendous ASU for a 1-5 stretch. Before that they beat a horrendous Oregon St. team following a loss to WSU.
  24. Starts putting it together means not playing like dogs***? You honestly expected the Illinois team that played Purdue to be the team that showed up the rest of the year? Again reverse the situations, (following ILLINOIS BEATING INDIANA)"unless Indiana starts putting it together, I think they lose at Iowa, Purdue, Michigan, and MSU" You'd laugh your ass off and probably come up with some new Eric Gordon factoid. To consider a team's true talent level based one game is ridiculous, especially when you just saw them play a better game 4 days earlier against your own [expletive] team. Why are you getting so pissy over my prediction that U of I will lose 3 more games? Watch them play. It is very possible. And again, you didn't say it was possible. Possible means it's not impossible for it to happen. Your predicting means you deem it likely, which is absurd. I actually believe we will lost three more games. What from this garbage team makes you believe they will finally rise up and not play at least one more stinker game? I think IU and Iowa are road losses, but I think we have one more stinker coming, too. It's my prediction that we'll have to go 5-2 and then win at least one conference tourney game to have a hope for an NCAA invite. And then we'd probably be an 8-9 seed, at best. The chance of the team actually getting healthy at some point? But mostly the schedule The schedule is what makes me think they lose no more than 2 games. Half the games are against teams so bad they could lay a stinker and still win. There are 3 games against teams with RPIs in the top 150(at IU(13), home against UM(60), and at Iowa(95)) I think Illinois finishes out 6-1.
