    Agreed. Hanley would have been a great short term and long term piece.

    Camp was do for a regression, but I have noticed Svuem really can be hesitent at times to pull a reliever even when it's clear he has nothing that particular day. I hope he cleans this habit up by the time we are a good.

    Colletti, isn't a good GM in my view, and hands out bad contracts, but for the most part doesn't foolishly give away good prospects.

    I don't see there is any reason we can't put a team together by 2014 that can challenge for a WC at least(82-85 win) without jeopardizing any long term goals.

It seems like the Atlanta deal and probablity of the Dodgers not working out was fully communicated to Dempster. Still don't know why Dempster got all pissy, but whatever....

    I guess new acquisition Brian Price was beyond bad today, more like an absolute disaster. It sure seems we get sucked into buying a bad bill of goods when it comes to DLineman from Tampa.

    My favorite part is how he played the role of "Anti-Hendry" and just didn't decide to help stack the Dodgers for a postseason run.

    Yeah who wants the opportunity to represent their country in the stupid Olympics? Great Britain is getting embarrased in these games, and Deng is going to miss signficant time because I don't see how he can't have the surgery at this point, so who's really won here?

    we may have gotten nothing good for maholm/johnson if dempster went to atlanta. it still sucks because delgado is clearly the best of the bunch, but this seems like a decent haul. I could care less about the pieces maholm/johnson got us, the big catch in this was Delgado. I'm for quality over quanitity. You do know that Vizcaino was rated in front of Delgado before this season, right? He's not anymore. Again, I don't mind these trades and trust Theo and Jed, but I still have a letdown of no Delgado. Plus I'm sure there was another landing spot for Maholm other than Atlanta.

    me too. Just out of curiosity, if we had traded Dempster for Delgado, what would you have expected in return for Maholm and Johnson? Probably about what we end up getting for Dempster, so it all evens out. . That makes 0 sense.
