  1. I guess I better bring a net!
  2. I'll be there with the Mrs. Friday night. We're in section 104.
  3. Last year I tried to get Tiger World Series tickets that way after an article in the Free Press said that those things happen. Several times during the day I tried and it wouldn't let me in (said "sold out") but one time much later I got in but when I tried to purchase best available it said there weren't tickets available in that section. There might have been a single, but I don't remeber if I tried since my goal was to take my son.
  4. woops. Needed a smiley or something, I guess! Anything that the've done good in the past decade has involved Wood. You could say that about a lot of guys. :D
  5. Is that per ticket, or per pair?
  6. I think it really explains a lot about why Cubs fans still hold him in such high regard. Anything that the've done good in the past decade has involved Wood. You could say that about a lot of guys.
  7. So, 106-110 may very well be obstructed? You may actually be okay. I sat in 505 row 6 a month ago but in seats 7-9, I believe. I sat in seat 9 and had to lean over to my right to see home plate. In seat 8, you had to lean to you left. Seat 7 was fine. It's hard to tell in your case, but because you're that far away from the aisle and the pillar look to be directly in front of row 1 seat 101, I think you might be fine. Thanks for the tips. I thought it was like the 200s and the first few rows wouldn't be affected, but see after looking at some pics that it's a different scenario in the 500s. Oh well, I'm in the park!

  9. so, what kind of view is 505 row 3? That's where I got in.
  10. Sir Charles?! When I saw "entertainer" I thought someone like "the Rock". I'm saying Tom Brady and the Rock. The Rock is an entertainer? I find him to be more entertaining than say, Brad Paisley, for example.
  11. Sir Charles?! When I saw "entertainer" I thought someone like "the Rock".
  12. I'll be there Friday night. It's college night and even though I'm old, I still go to college, so half price tickets. I wanted something behind the Cub dugout, but those are sold out. There are tons of good tickets elsewhere though, and I chose left field, pretty close to the front.
  13. Well said Wheelimus, and I do believe that the majority are upset about the record. I'm not usually cynical about this kind of stuff, but I find myself wondering sometimes in this case- especially if Ankiel and Gibbons and whoever else tied to the pharmacy are downplayed for doing PEDs.
  14. But, I can't discount race because people aren't talking about Raffy and Mac because they're not black. You're completely right- the record plays a huge role. Maybe even 100%, I don't know. And maybe his jerk personality plays a role. But, I can't help but wonder about race in this situation when the darkest dude catches the most heat. In the NFL, black players are getting a pass when they get busted (Harrison, Merriman), so maybe that should set me at ease and let me know for sure it's the record or his personality or baseball's poetic higher standard even though the game's had cheaters since it started. Ummm....they got suspended. What MLB player has been suspended for HGH? I think Merriman was suspended for steroids. When I say they "get a pass", I mean in the public perception. Yes, they are suspended for a 1/4 of the season. That is huge. It hurts their team. But, Bob Costas doesn't have an Inside Sports special on their cheating. There are no books written about them. No one is calling for them to be banned for life. All these things happen in baseball and more so to Bonds, in my observations. Those NFL guys are treated during the suspensions about like they're out with an ankle sprain, not that they are god-awful cheaters keeping honest youngsters from ever getting a shot and teaching the world that it's o.k. to cheat your way to the top.

  16. Now Jay Gibbons has been named in the pharmacy investigation.
  17. Yes, yes, yes. If this story is swept away and assertions of it being overblown, etc. persist, it will look to me like Bonds' race and/ or pursuit of the homerun record amplified the public outrage against him. I already think baseball players are more criticized than any other athletes for PEDs. If white baseball players not chasing records don't catch hell then it'll narrow the bias a little more in my eyes.
  18. now 6-0 Reds. Pour it on boys!
  19. Who is Bob? I thought the last B stood for Bob! I don't know why, but I've always thought that and now realize I have no idea why. :D
  20. It would probably be best for everyone, if people who lack integrity and will resort to cheating to get through life, elected not to reproduce. O.K. So it's the severity of the crime? Because, I for instance, drank beer before I was of legal age. According to what I'm reading that means I am forced to teach my kids that doing so is o.k. There's no way that I can tell them not to do that because I did it. That don't make no sense to me. Now, if the deal is because it's cheating, it's more severe, then maybe. Bob, I get the sense that that's the rub with you and others and I dig it. But, in my neighborhood alone I can probably find several guys who have either cheated on their wife or on their taxes or on a test when they were in school. Those people get a pass because they're not ball players? I don't want to judge them that severely and I don't think they teach their kids to do what they may have done and now regret.
  21. Yikes. So, do the walk the talk guys, or whatever, never make mistakes? 'Cause under that rule if you ever did anything wrong you could never have a kid. :D
  22. I've been tempted to get on the gas simply because I'm into weightlifting and I want to get bigger and stronger. (I haven't ever) edit- done the steroids. didn't want anyone to think i hadn't gotten swole over time. :D I agree, these guys have much, much more to gain and I am also not surprised they would do it, and I guess it doesn't completely infuriate me for that reason. Plus, every dang sport does it.
  23. No one should be immune from the scrutiny if they got stuff from this place, considering the amount given to previous users.
  24. Actually, a huge list of wrestlers got stuff from them, including the recently deceased Chris Benoit and Eddie Guerrero. Wade Wilson also got nailed. Ditto Rodney Harrison. This mess is only getting started. This "ring" is definitely going to turn out to be bigger than BALCO. I wonder if any Cubs are going to be on "the list"? I hope not, but will not be the least bit surprised. People that work out at Gold's and whose performance has no bearing on their salary use this stuff. Olympians, who are under the strictist testing, do this stuff all the time. And many are doing them now but not getting caught. I wouldn't be surprised if some Cub players have used.
