    Really? Yes, really. You don't find it odd of the number of baseball people from that era who have died from brain tumors? I think I heard somewhere about a study currently being done on it with the artificial turf and insecticides used on grass being the focal point(s).

    Another onfield personnel from the late 70s / early 80s that has died from a brain tumor. Others: Gary Carter Dan Quisenberry Dick Howser Tug McGraw Coincidence? I don't know, but definitely strange.

    Not really true, but people who speak Spanish poorly with bad accents pronounce it that way. How is that not true? That is the correct pronunciation of the letter "e". Not to get off on a tangent, but no, it's not. For example, the name, "Jose." Non-Spanish speakers will pronounce it something like "Ho-zay" That's how I remember Harry Caray pronouncing it. And he would pronounce "Hernandez" as "Her-naan-dees". Sorry for staying off the main topic here, but what is the correct pronunciation of the letter "e" in spanish? In 4 years of high school spanish and a college minor in spanish, I was always taught that it was pronounced like we say the letter "a"in english. And so we finally put this conversation to rest, what is the correct pronunciation of Yoennis?

    Im not sure if this was discussed earlier or not, but is his first name pronounced like Yo-ehnes or Yo-anes? Im being serious b/c in spanish, the letter "e" is pronounced like we say the letter "a" in english. If its the latter, there will definitely be childish jokes about his name.

    This is essentially how I feel. I could go either way with the DH...depending on my mood. But the biggest problem is the difference between leagues and how it impacts player movement. And the DH isn't going away in the AL...no way the MLBPA allows it. They would definitely like the NL to adopt the DH though! I used to have traditional views on this subject, hoping the AL would get rid of the DH and both leagues being the same. But, I've realized there's no way the MLBPA will allow it since it would mean that certain players would lose money. And with both leagues going to an even 15 teams, interleague play occurring every day, and NL teams losing players like Pujols and Fielder to the AL, it's a competitive disadvantage for NL teams and hopefully they will adopt the DH as well.

    Seriously, people want to blame him for the previous Cubs management offering him that ridiculous contract. And by all accounts I've heard, he's supposed to be a really nice guy.

    Did anyone who attended the convention notice if there are a lot of attractive women who hang out at this thing? I was listening to B&B on the Score last week and they more or less called it a Sex Fest for the players with the convenience of it being held in a hotel. I've never been to the Cubs Convention before.

    Who gives a [expletive] about experience, its about maximizing your revenue that can be put back into the team. With that said, I highly doubt they will replace the scoreboard, nor would I want that. But, the point of a jumbotron isn't replays or kiss cams, its about advertising dollars.

    My god, do you remember how many hoops they had to jump through just to put up the Toyota sign? That damn neighborhood restricts almost everything they want to do. If they even want to put up a jumbotron on top of a rooftop, Tunney will complain that it would be an eye sore and wont fit in w/the rest of the neighboood. Hopefully with Rahm in office, he can strong arm the neighborhood into backing off some of the Cubs desired projects.

    You forgot one..........................[expletive] Bud Selig. No Wild Card team should EVER hold home field advantage over a division winner because of the All-Star Game. Screw you, Bud Selig. Once Bud retires, this rule will be eliminated.

    I can proudly say that I did not give FOX one second of viewing tonights debacle. And I plan to watch football the rest of the weekend, where it wont be mentioned. So, it will be like it didn't happen, right?

    It seems all Cardinal fans feel the need to try and slam cub fans more than just enjoy their world series runs. Sad group of people. This describes my entire office, and the STL area in general. It just doesnt make any sense. Are White Sox fans like this? Yes

    The Cardinals can thank Pud Selig's stupid All Star Game rule for giving them Game 7 at home tonight. Also, was it me, or was that the most emotion I've heard from Joe Buck in a long time? Gee, I wonder why?
