  1. Good! BJax is the player I would be most reluctant to give up, of the players previously mentioned.
  2. Is the level of minor league player compensation tied to who and how many of Red Sox employees Theo can take w/ him to the Cubs? If this is the case, I say let the Sox keep the employees and give them a couple of mid level minor leaguers and/or cash and call it a deal. It sounds like Josh Byrnes would join Theo anyways and I have to imagine Theo knows enough people in other organizations to fill up the front office staff. Throw in some holdovers from the current Cubs staff and they should have enough for 2012. Next off season, he can try to hire the Red Sox employees that he wants to bring with him.
  3. How about Geo Soto too?
  4. Comcast Sportsnet Central just mentioned that WCVB in Boston is reporting that the Cubs and Red Sox have agreed on the number of Red Sox employees that Epstein can bring w/ him. No names or numbers were given nor has the compensation been agreed to yet.
  5. He must have meant October 18th, as NLCS Game 7 is scheduled for the 17th and the WS starts on the 19th, after checking.
  6. B&B on the Score were just talking about that Joel Sherman tweet. Their opinion is Epstein will be named Team President and GM. Matt Abatacola guessed that it will be officially announced on Monday, October 17th, since that is an off day from the playoffs and the day before the World Series.
  7. What's anyone's take on Axford? I'm not overly impressed w/ him, but he continuously gets the job done for the Brewers.
  8. Iowa State loses to Baylor yesterday: check My fantasy football team is on the verge of losing: check All I need is the Bears to lose tomorrow night, and I'll have quite the perfect weekend.
  9. I would take this as well. Regardless, I'll be rooting for the AL team in the WS.
  10. When your only NL option is the Brewers, rooting for the Cardinals is clearly the better choice. Were in the minority in this thinking. The Cardinals already have enough bragging rights over us that another World Series would just be gravy. The Brewers gives yet another team those bragging rights. Besides, when I get [expletive] from a Brewers fan about the Cubs failures at least with them you can ask when they won their last World Series. We're running out of teams we can use that argument with. I can't help but feel this same way. The Brewers are definitely a more likeable team, but I really don't need another fan base to give me crap. Especially here in the Chicago area, where there are just as many, if not more, Brewer fans as Cardinal fans. As much as I dislike the Cardinals, I think I have to reluctantly root for them. I would much rather both teams play to a never ending tie.

  13. So, who do you guys like in the AL? I think I'll be rooting for Detroit b/ c of Verlander.

  15. [expletive]!!! And [expletive] you Richard Stockton!!!
  16. I assume thats why Descalso came into the game?
  17. Im really surprised LaRussa is taking Carpenter out. I would have left him in the way he was pitching. Of course w/ the way Philly is hitting, it doesn't matter.
  18. Maybe Manual should mix things up and try someone off his bench. This same lineup hasn't been able to do anything since early in Game 2.
  19. I really don't know who I'd root for between Brewers and Cards. I hate the cards, but I really don't need to put up w/ another fan base that can one up the Cubs.
  20. If its Brewers/Cards in the NLCS, what a shitty way to start the weekend.
  21. On the bright side, its always good to see such a classless fanbase like Philly fans have their team lose.
  22. See I can't agree there. As a Cubs fan, I hate the Cardinals because I'm bred to. However, the rivalries never been as personal for me because I don't know any Cards fans to fan those flames. With The Brewers, on the other hand, I know plenty of those cheese balls, and they have some kind of one sided rivalry with Chicago when it comes to pretty much anything. they already won the last Super Bowl and will probably win the next. They don't deserve that much happiness. Filthy creatures they are. +1
  23. Their teams that aren't as good tend to achieve more. And they are on fire right now. The Phillies can't hit, Brewers can. Cards wont get past Milwaukee.
  24. Per Boers and Bernstein on WSCR, the White Sox will name Robin Ventura as the new manager.
