  1. Yeah, I just viewed his splits. Still, I think the best players should play regardless of what hand the pitcher throws with, outside of scheduled off-days every now and then. Especially when LaHair had his best game yesterday in the past 2 weeks and, it's not like Baker is really hitting anyone this year.
  2. Wow! Am I reading this correctly that lefties hit Stults better than righties in his career? http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/split.cgi?id=stulter01&year=Career&t=p So, why again is LaHair and Stewart out of the lineup again? I guess that lefty-killer, Baker, needs to play, huh?
  3. I hate this mostly righty lineup that gets featured vs lefty starters. LaHair finally got back on track and Stewart had a nice day at the plate yesterday...and what is their reward? Sit the next day. Yeah, that will help them stay hot at the plate!
  4. I'm surprised Sveum isnt pinch hitting Baker for LaHair since he's such a lefty killer
  5. Definitely won't miss LaHair's defense at first when Rizzo gets called up
  6. Not to be a negative Nelly, but if it comes down to our bullpen vs the Pads bullpen, I dont like our chances.
  7. There we go! Maybe LaHair will get back on a hot streak!
  8. Im fully behind Theo and Co., but I still dont like their approach to this season. Looking at the free agent tracker from this past off season shows more than a few quality relievers who signed one year deals, which is very reasonable and can BOTH help you now and not financially strap you in the future. The patchwork bullpen didnt have to be this bad.
  9. Its like watching a train wreck...everyday.
  10. Too many bennch players inn this lineup
  11. Its really too bad Dempster will probably get another loss due to the crummy ofennse....another good outing.
  12. And we thought it was bad when Marlon Byrd batted third every day...
  13. I cant believe its not even June yet and Im already looking forward to football season. Oh well, I guess Rizzo's call up will be something to look forward to, right?
  14. With the way this season is going, there's going to be more empty seats at Wrigley than last year. I cant believe Ricketts kept ticket prices so high for a rebuilding year...they are going to lose a lot of money at the consessions. Tickets should be dirt cheap on stubhub!
  15. Len and Bob sound like they are doing their best Hawk Harrelson impersonation with how quiet their broadcast is. I guess they can only stay upbeat so much when their team is so dreadful like this year's Cubs.
  16. Im too lazy to look it up, but it seems like Castro is striking out at a higher rate this year. I always thought he was a high contact guy albeit a free swinger though. But, he really is chasing and missing those low and away pitches this year. Is he just in a slump or being influenced too much by Soriano? My God, the Cubs are awful....one game away from being swept by the Stros. 8 games and counting....
  17. This was what I was thinking. Could have done something similar to what the Bears did to get the Soldier Field renovations paid for...start looking at other potential sites. I remember them even looking at a site in Gary, IN.
  18. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didnt Ricketts already mention the importance of staying in Wrigley, thus eliminating any possible threat of leaving to be used in negotiating? Might have been able to get more night games, signage and street closures if that card was used.
  19. Jeff Baker really has been useless this year.
