Zito is not worth the money he's going to command in the offseason. I would stay away from him at all costs. Well cubs are going to need to sign a FA pitcher this off-season. Who would you want instead? ANother guy I would like the cubs to look at is Kelvim Escabor, but that being said Zito is the best pitcher on the market and he is a former CY young winner so your probably right in the fact he will command alot of $$$$$$$$ escobar's A LOT more likely. he's a trib friendly FA.

The word that quickly comes to mind to summarize this team is pathetic. They've spent lots of money and look good on paper, but have bought into all the "bad luck" excuses. This has to be the most pathetic month of baseball I've seen from a Cub team.

When the Cubs put a little money into a closer they usually suck. Just recently, JoBo, Alfy, Rojas. Hawkins wasn't brought in to close, but he was consider one of the best setup men in the game.

Nope. No kidding. So far, Hendry's answer to this offensive offense has been to call up a no htting OFer, then exchange him for a light hitting 2B (the 4th on the roster) and then send that guy down for a career light-htting 2B he just pulled off the scrap heap. Hendry clearly gave up on this team the moment Lee broke his wrist. That has to be the explanation, but the only other possible explanations would be inability to SEE what is wrong ir inability to do anything about it...either of which are inexcusable from a GM. WOW. How can you say Hendry has given up on this team??? You have GM's in baseball saying he is always on the phone. WOW your comment does not make any sense. No teams are willing to make trades in APRIL. WOW you must be... well im not going to say it because im in shock yeah obviously someone didn't see that the Mets and D'Backs just made a trade 2 days ago. If Hendry was working hard on the phones, he'd have a trade by now...guranteed. the cubs should have got el duque?
