  1. there's probably an argument to be made for best pitcher of all time, starter or reliever. No. yes Clemens and Maddux each threw more than 4 times as many innings as Rivera has. You've gotta be some kind of special, and really think highly of 9th inning leverage for Rivera to get close to them. you don't have to convince me.

  4. your team is pretty special if you have a sub 1 ERA and still don't have a win.
  5. lol, whining? i'm saying there's an easy solution to balance the schedules. if teams are in a division together it's logical to make them have the same schedule. the schedule as is doesn't really bother me. but when the astros move to the al, there's a pretty easy chance to ensure teams have same schedule as the rest of their division
  6. I don't even know what "do it all the way" means here. Interleague is small portion of the schedule. It works that way. I see no reason to have it take up so much of the season. And I see no reason why everybody in a division has to have a perfectly matched schedule. less than 20% of the season is not that much.
  7. I mean, unless it's something cool like Red Sox or Yankees vs. Cubs, is it really all that special or interesting anymore?
  8. If you're going to do interleague, then do it all the way. Or scrap it. Either way, teams in a division should have the same schedule.
  9. That's 30 games a season against teams you're not competing against. so?
  10. do it like the nfl. one nl division faces 1 al division a year, with a home and away series vs each team in that division. every team in a division has the same schedule, if you're a cubs fan in boston you get to see them every 3 years. the solution is so simple.
  11. this pic begs to differ http://www.amodominicana.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Neifi_Perez-1.jpg
  12. Never forget, Neifi Perez looked amazing at the end of 2004, and the 1st month of 2005.
  13. I should add I have a few binders with me that has my favorite cards as a kid in it (200 Will Clarks!), and a couple complete sets. I have no desire to go through 5,000 1993 Fleer Delino Deshields though.
  14. A few months ago my parents called me saying I needed to do something with my thousands and thousands of baseball cards that are still at their house. The only answer I could come up with was to throw them all away. Thankfully, I don't think I'll regret that decision like a lot of people who grew up in the 50's.
  15. I had a glimmer of hope that the Cardinals would become less whiny after TLR left. But alas... http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/ct-spt-0425-bits-cubs-cardinals-chicago--20120425,0,5956445.story
  16. dennis martinez!
  17. his numbers will be fine, unfortunately
  18. This makes very little sense. Who in their right mind is embarrassed by the presence of that scoreboard? And no, you can't easily replace it with an electronic version that is the same size with replay screen and stats. Any replacement with a screen is going to require a much bigger size and/or much less information on the screen. They'd be better off maintaining and upgrading the board as is, and adding additional screens elsewhere in the stadium. I'm in my right mind and I'm embarrassed by the thing. I disagree that it would need to be MUCH bigger - a lot of the current scoreboard is wasted green space. The board in Minute Maid Park isn't much bigger, same for Lucas Oil Field yet they offer modern functionality. Have you ever sat beneath the scoreboard? BRRRRRRR.....CLUNK! is a common sound. It needs to go. I'm sure the new park in Hoffman Estates will have a better scoreboard. don't sit beneath the scoreboard then. problem solved.
  19. Screw that. Base Wars was where it was at. If we got rid of human umpires then we wouldn't have Steve McMichael getting ejected during the 7th inning stretch. i knew you'd see it my way
  20. BECAUSE NOT HAVING UMPIRES IS WEIRD, THAT'S THE ONLY ARGUMENT YOU NEED
