  1. not what you're talking about, but i like this throw a lot (and features michael barrett!) good god, those blue jays uniforms are hideous
  2. there should be a thread for dumb baseball opinions we held as kids i used to tell everyone that shawon dunston was just as good, if not better, than ozzie smith
  3. Is he the worst defensive catcher in baseball? He has to be in the bottom 5 he knew the runner would be safe so he took the opportunity to make lazy starlin castro field an extra grounder for practice
  4. dayton ohio represent
  5. http://gifs.gifbin.com/208347578.gif I THINK I'M CUTE I KNOW I'M SEXY I'VE GOT THE LOOKS THAT DRIVE THE GIRLS WILD
  6. You should take a glance at Steve Clevenger's game log from last year. Or Bryan LaHair's. Anyone remotely capable of being a major leaguer can have a 6 game stretch like this. It's awesome, exciting, and fun to watch, but it doesn't tell us anything about what will happen with that player in the future. my favorite crappy player with an amazing stretch has to be neifi perez's late 2004 and first couple months of 2005

  8. i've probably taken about 12 pitches total in my video game sports playing career.
  9. also that he goes completely overboard bashing an umpire for a bad call that goes against the white sox, but is practically effusive with praise when the bad call favors them. YOU'RE DAGGUM RIGHT WE'RE PLAYING THIS GAME UNDER PROTEST! HA. mlb network had the white sox broadcast of their game vs. the tigers this afternoon, and after the tigers pitcher got ejected for throwing behind alexei, hawk calmly stated "yeah he probably shouldn't have ejected him, but the umpire has every right to eject someone for throwing intentionally at a batter." it was a pretty stark contrast to whenever a sox pitcher gets ejected for throwing at a batter.
  10. for reasons i can't even remember, i remember hating eric byrnes as a player, but he was pretty great on the mlb network this afternoon. him and harold reynolds were debating on who should be the reds #2 hitter, and harold kept saying zach cosart (.230/.261/.358) should be the #2 hitter because "he's a middle infielder and middle infielders like to get involved in the game early". byrnes more or less called harold an idiot, and it was wonderful tv. harold also dropped a "your argument makes statistic sense, but not baseball sense" gem to byrnes.
  11. Oh man. DO NOT LOOK AT THE PICTURE GALLERY, JESUS CHRIST
  12. the rays "throwback" uniforms are probably the best thing ever
  13. how long until marmol is free to sign with any team? i mean there obviously won't be a bidding war for his services.
  14. god speed aaron paul's lost twin
  15. In an attempt to be objective, I could see putting it ahead of basketball (mainly because I hate the way the World Basketball Federation is officiated) and I'd agree with goony that a comparison with football isn't really a fair comparison (really with any sport). I will blindly and biasedly (I don't know that to be a word) put baseball ahead of it all day, though. most playoff baseball games are just as boring as regular season games.
  16. now i'm starting to see people regulary wear duck dynasty shirts and hats. it's embarrassing.
  17. vogelbach also got easily thrown out trying to advance from 1st to 3rd on a hit. it was hilarious.
  18. I do know Vogelbach, so I'm excited to see him. I'm no Pinghitter but I'll try to post some of my impressions later tonight
  19. Just found out now that I'm going to the Midwest League All Star Game tonight. I don't follow the minors all that closely, so which Cubs prospects that will be there are the ones to really watch for? And also what other top prospects should I take note of?
  20. there's your #2 pick, cubs
  21. good for collins. i never heard of him until today, and now i've learned his backup in high school was jason segal, and he was friends with chelsea clinton at stanford.
