  1. =D> =D> =D> Of course the problem I have with the hindsight fans is that there's no guarantee that Alou would've put up similar numbers if he'd stayed with the Cubs. I don't watch many Giants games because I don't care to see/hear about Bonds, but I wonder if Daddy Alou puts up with Moises' bad baserunning, poor throws, first pitch ground outs, not calling off the SS/3B on pop ups, not giving ground to the CF on fly balls...... I grumble when Zambrano does his frequent annoying things. But I'll miss him when he's gone too.
  2. Nice article Bob. Do you think it's possible to do the same thing with Jacque Jones and Juan Pierre, to compare their bad starts with Aramis's?
  3. Wood gets excused for poor performance because of nagging injuries. Why not Moises? I remember him saying he felt healthy in 2004 for the 1st time in a while, and the results showed that. I'm assuming he still feels healthy now, and he's still producing. Completely different situations in my mind. BTW - based on the amount of time he's missed the last couple years, I'd assume he's still suffering from nagging injuries. And didn't he credit his better health in 2004 to his improved offseason workout regimen? Are you mad at Maddux for just now improving his offseason workout regimen too?
  4. Wood at least has good career numbers and dominating k/9 numbers despite his injuries. Potatohands did very little on the Cobs until '04. However, that still doesn't explain the depth of Tim's hate for him. Alou's 2003 wasn't that bad. It wasn't 10 million dollars good, but he was still productive that year. And Alou's career numbers are good too.
  5. Weird. MLB.tv's audio was really weird, and I was getting the Diamondbacks broadcast. So I exited out and restarted mlb.tv, and now I'm getting the Chicago feed.

  7. He's better than Neifi and Bynum. Not really. He's probably getting traded for Clark. He must have some value then. I doubt we could get Clark for Bynum or Neifi.
  8. He's better than Neifi and Bynum.
  9. Freddie Bynum gets the start at 2nd instead of poor Jerry. I feel for the guy.
  10. Unless there's an injury I'm unaware of, Dusty REALLY REALLY must hate Hairston.
  11. It's kind of unfair to ask Aramis to put up Sammy's 2001 numbers.
  12. i'll be pleasantly surprised if jacque jones even puts up alou's 2002 line of .275/.337/.419.
  13. it'd be nice to see him stop sucking.
  14. Regressing to the mean is what Greg Maddux's last start was.
  15. Some of us didn't want him to leave. At least not the way it happened.
  16. I wonder who Matt Clement pissed off last year.
  17. Sammy 2005 against lefties: .288/.370/.471. It's not THAT bad of an idea.
  18. When's the funeral? IN STEROIDSVILLE HAHAHAHAHA edit: I read that as "where's the funeral" at first and now I look dumb
  19. Still in the lineup for now. It wasn't when he was hitting, but he was against the dugout railing and a ball hit him.
  20. He wasnt. I was just providing some numbers for my assessment. everyone knows when rocket and i are arguing, believe me. in fact, i dont think we have argued for a week now. time for me to tell him to stuff it again i guess. you weren't here all college football season, so we briefly made up for lost time. now everything is cool again. (for now)
  21. Also right field. Reds right fielder: .307/.372/.535 Cubs right fielder: .219/.261/.453
  22. Stone didn't call out Mercker because Mercker sucked. He got made at Mercker because Stone was saying that Roy Oswalt was currently having a good game, when he in fact wasn't. Mercker heard it in the clubhouse and called him out on that, and Stone didn't like that.
  23. holy crap i love earl weaver. my dad used to tell me of his legendary arguments with umpires but i didn't know he was this amazing.
