About what I was thinking. This all sounds so very familiar... I honestly wasn't around much during da bum's heyday so I'm no bum expert. All I can say is I'm posting facts to support my arguments. Thinking Keady is a coach that Purdue should be embarassed of somehow is just weird. He had success over an extended period of time in one of the toughest conferences in basketball.

He finished in the Top 3 of the Big Ten 13 times during those 17 appearances. Also, he had an appearance at Western Kentucky so he has 18 as a coach. How many coaches have more appearances? Those records I highlighted are bubble records. Are you saying they aren't? He didn't make the tournament every year, he had bubble years. Finishing in the Top 3 of the B1G is not a bubble year. He did that 13 times. He won 6 Big Ten Championships, an average of every four years over a 25 year span. Considering only 40 some PROGRAMS have made the tournament more times than Keady it's pretty clear that he's one of the more succesful coaches in history in terms of NCAA appearances.

Keady made the NCAA tournament 17 times. Painter has made the tournament 6 out of 7 years. Michigan has made the tournament 19 times, ever. Wisconsin 18. If you want to run the man down for not making Final Fours, that I can see.

It's tough to watch your team go from a national title contender to a perennial bubble squad at best. You'll get over it. I also read we're a real contender for Lyle, so the inevitable question is who are plan B and C at this point, because that's who we'll end up with. We're a perennial bubble team? Since when? I thought he was talking about Illinois? Well we had a purdue guy running things. Makes sense we would become a bubble program. Yeah, that makes great sense.

He's going to crean some people this off season and then I won't be able to make fun of Crean for doing it anymore... :( Am I missing something here? Is Painter still recruiting for 2013-2014? Yes he is. He had an offer out to 2013 PG Corn Elder as recently as this week but he chose to go to Miami to play football (4-Star FB recruit). Sandi will be a 5th year Senior next year so he would be the most likely departure. I'm thinking Lawson might transfer out just to get playing time.

Everyone keeps talking about him being a lock for the number 1 pick... I know that he's a force defensively, but wouldn't most teams at least take a good hard look at Ben McLemore if he declares? He'll probably have to go to the draft even though he's not going to be the top pick. He probably hasn't even been going to class.
