Wait, Hardy was #8 in OPS for all SS (with 500 PA) two years ago and #4 in OPS for all SS (with 500 PA) last year. I believe he was injured the year before that. If the Brewers trade him now - that would be very Cub like. Trading him at his least valuable point. Granted, he's never been an OBP guy but there aren't a whole lot of SS out there who can hit you 20-25 HRs. He was progressing, he's just turning 28 in a couple weeks, and he's incredibly streaky if I recall (he OPSd .888 in May). I don't think there's any reason he can't be back around an .800 OPS with 25 HRs again next year. I don't have any of his 'advanced' defensive ratings, but I watch a fair number of Brewer games and he doesn't seem to be a defensive liabilty. Oh, and he's not very expensive. I hope they move him for a garbage 5th starter and watch him return to form next year. He's no super star, but he'll have a better carere than Alcides Escobar...
