  1. yeah, that's why they never get talked about
  2. Hightower yelled at him first but that was pretty funny. As far as the game for the first half I couldn't be happier. Purdue has played phenomenal defense and has done a good job staying patient on offense. They win this game and they are back in the thick of things. They lose and they essentially have to win out to have a shot. a shot at what? Big Ten title I assume.
  3. Bob Knight actually took his headset off and yelled at Hightower during the game. Nice!
  4. They just showed the visiting locker room at Minnesota on ESPN2. It looks like a broom closet!
  5. I'm sure you already know this, but you have us switched. Yeah, of course I knew that already. :ninja: Yeah, and I don't collect Death's Head moths... It sounds like a fun past time, at least. If you did that, I mean. Yeah, I don't have the time I used to since I started making my own clothes. What do Death's Head Moths, casts, vans, wells, and clothing all have in common? I'm picturing a tragic accident.
  6. How is Purdue an 8 seed? Who have they beat that's a good team? Davidson, Wisconsin...but I get your point Yeah, big wins at Minnesota tonight and then at Wisconsin would really help their seeding.
  7. How is Purdue an 8 seed? Who have they beat that's a good team?
  8. Ok... it looks safe now. nice win for the Hawkeyes! my co-worker who is an Iowa grad will be able to face all of the Sconnies in the office tomorrow.
  9. haha... you had to say it
  10. Sconnies going down too?
  11. Purdue finally looking good.
  12. Purdue not looking good. Iowa looking worse, especially without Tate.
  13. He called it on the dude defending in the post who gave a little shove to the back before the ball arrived. The only problem with that was he waited to call it a full second and a half later once Moore came down and stripped the ball. Weak. Chris Kramer is such a tool. The way they react after every foul is so annoying. If you want to play that style of defense, great. Just realize that you could be called for a foul every possession. Usually at least 2 guys. Kramer is definitely in the annoying grinder mold.
  14. Wow, I put it on pause for 10 minutes and came back. Talk about stealing a win.
  15. Yeah, there have been some terrible calls both ways. Some ticky tack calls.
  16. The only player for Purdue that doesn't consistently disappear is JaJuan Johnson.
  17. Maybe Iowa has a shot on Sunday :good: (but not really, Purdue will beat Iowa) Probably at home, but I would not be surprised to see Iowa beat us at Iowa.
  18. What a joke. Seriously they are not anywhere close to a good basketball team.
  19. Purdue playing like garbage again.
  20. His "major contributors, significant contributors, role players, limited roles" categories are going to either need a larger sample to be accurate or some fine-tuning. Yeah, I was hoping there'd be an explanation on the main page explaining those, but there was none. He doesn't really measure individual defense, so those rankings seem to be offensive based only with in the very least a large slant towards scoring. The titles are more just fun to see so you can make fun of Chris Kramer being ranked "nearly invisible" The new information is really interesting and exciting. However, it definitely needs some fine-tuning, I think. Any player ranking system that has Malik Story and Verdell Jones III ahead of Nick Williams based on this season has some flaws. ETA: That probably won't sound egregious for non-IU fans, I know. I'm assuming there are better examples nation-wide; but, from a micro perspective, Williams has clearly been superior. He's got Calasan ahead of Johnson and Hummel for Purdue...
  21. Purdue finally starting hitting their shots yesterday. Hummel played well and appears to have shaken off his injuries. Johnson is off to a nice start, averaging 14.4 points, 9 boards, and 1.7 blocks per games through the first three conference games. He didn't look great in the Penn State game, but he put up double-doubles in the other two. For the other Purdue fans here, am I the only one that gets nervous every time Marcus Green gets the ball on offense? I mean, I like his intensity on defense and his ability to get rebounds against guys much taller than him, but I cringe everytime he shoots the ball. Thankfully, he somehow managed to hit a couple threes yesterday (after airballing his first attempt). Green is really just raw athlete. He's got zero touch!
  22. I'll readily admit they haven't exactly looked like a great team for a few weeks, but calling them a "pathetic disgrace" is ridiculous. They're missing two starters due to injury: the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year and a First Team All Big Ten selection. Any team is going to struggle when two key players miss time due to injury. If those two have to miss a significant amount of time (especially Hummel), it's going to be a tough conference season. That doesn't make them anything close to a "pathetic disgrace" though. Unless I'm mistaken, yesterday was the first game they've missed. They're not a terrible basketball team - and pathetic disgrace was just the frustration talking. That being said they should not be ranked and are/were very over-hyped. If they do end up 9-9 and are on the outside looking in come tournament time I think pathetic disgrace fits. How often does a pre-season team with that much hype completely miss the tournament?
  23. We were playing with out Hummel and Kramer, but regardless we still should have won that game and yes it would be horribly pathetic if we don't make it They're 2-4 against competitive teams. I'm guessing on a 9-9 Big Ten record after watching these first two conference games. 10-8 maybe, 11-7 would thrill me. They've been playing with two starters hurt...and we lost two games to two teams that in the top 10 teams in the country. There's no way we finish 9-9 in the Big Ten.....We lost the first two, but come on were not that bad and at full health will lose probably 5-7 (in the big ten) games I think They could easily lose at Wisconsin, at Michigan State, at Minnesota, at Michigan, and at Illinois. There are other games they could easily lose as well, including home versus Michigan State and at Ohio State. Obviously things can change but if Kramer and Hummel are hurt now they might be hurt for a decent stretch. I'm just saying I would not be shocked if they ended up 9-9 and they've done nothing to instill confidence in me to this point.

  25. I will laugh when Purdue doesn't make the tournament. What a pathetic disgrace.
