    Apparently Derek Willis (2013) is reconsidering Purdue. He posted on Facebook that he was backing out, but his dad is saying that's not accurate (yet). He's ranked #19 nationally by ESPN for 2013. Painter does not recruit players that back out so if he's gone he's gone for good. This really sucks for Purdue - apparently the kid (from Kentucky) wants to talk to Pitino and Calipari.

    Biggs just tweeted the Bears signed Spencer for 2 yrs.

    Going to my first AAU tournament tomorrow. Lots of D1 talent (three Purdue commits amongst them) and lots of big name coaches (Coach K, Calipari, Donovan, Self, Beilein, Painter, yada yada yada). Should be pretty cool.

    In all fairness, you'd get that in a lot of places. I never did when I lived in Chicago...

    Yeah, I live in downtown Milwaukee. The problem is that things are just so insular here. If you wear team apparel for anyone but a Wisconsin team you get stares and insults. I've had people slow down to yell f*ck Purdue as they drive by me when I'm wearing Purdue gear. It's really strange because the people up here are generally nice.

    Well it looks like Purdue has solved their 2012 scholarship situation. Patrick Bade is going to move from the basketball team to the football team (he was recruited as a TE out of high school), so they're back at 13 scholarships for 2012.

    I'll be there too. Only my second time at Dodger Stadium. Hopefully Dempster doesn't get blown up. I'm jealous. Dodger Stadium is on my list of future destinations, but probably not until 2013 since a honeymoon probably has to take priority over my Cubs trip next year. :-) It's a beautiful park - definitely worth the trip. Night games are cool, you can see the mountains in the outfield before the sun goes down. Temperature was perfect last night - I'm out here for work and it was in the 40's and overcast in Milwaukee yesterday, haha!

    I'll be there too. Only my second time at Dodger Stadium. Hopefully Dempster doesn't get blown up. And hopefully neither of us get beaten to a coma by gangbanger Dodger fans. Wow, I felt like I was at Police convention. I was in the Club level so it was quiet, but in the sections below us, close to the field, there were uniformed Police officers in every section. They were everywhere!

    2012 PG Ronnie Johnson commits to Purdue. I guess this was a done deal for a while considering his two big leans were Purdue (his brother will be a Junior when Ronnie arrives) and Butler. Then Purdue hired his lead recruiter from Butler (Micah Shrewsberry) and Butler got a seperate 2012 PG commit. I'm not sure if he was ever serious about Illinois but he did visit and got an offer. Color me confused. We're now over-commited by 1 in 2012 and 2013. Somebody has to be leaving - or not coming in the first place. I've heard rumors that Jay Simpson may have trouble qualifying because of academics. Even if that's true - I would think a big would be replaced with a big. Maybe Kyle Molock isn't coming now? He's supposed to be a pure PG and is already a 2012 commit. People keep saying that Bade or Hart will go but neither of them leaving helps the scholarship situation in 2013. The only one that would help is Marcius - and he's another big. I don't know. I guess we'll find out more in the coming weeks as the semester ends.

    Rinne was amazing. I saw him a bunch here in Milwaukee when he was coming up with the Admirals. I guess the Predators are my adopted second team now that the Hawks are out.

    Sounds like somebody is gonna get Painted! :P I heard IU is going to field two teams in 2012. They're already at 16 players. Only a few more to go.

    2012 PG Ronnie Johnson set to decided between Illinois and Purdue on Monday. If he picks Purdue I guess that means someone is gone. Painter was hinting in a recent article that someone might leave because of playing time. I hope he isn't Creaning people. Especially considering he's supposedly still recruiting Hammons and Harris for 12.
