  1. So when does Purdue play this weekend? Not before Tom embarrasses IU some more. Tell him to stop tanning, buy some clothes that fit, stop clapping, and stop snorting coke. I'm so embarrassed by our 27-8 season, I can hardly put on my IU gear in public. True story. It's the fact that IU fans aren't embarrassed by him that's telling.
  2. I've always argued he has had talent. This year he had Jordan Taylor. He did a superb job. He's a great evaluator and developer of talent. Taylor was a 2 star and barely recruited, Ryan Evans was a wreck his first two years out of HS, and Berg is plain awkward. But look how those 3 have played this year. For all those recruiting jokeys, they only see that Bo's only had 1 all-american at Wisconsin (Butch). So in that sense, having made 4 sweet 16s and an elite appearance in 11 years with only 1 all-american is quite the job. What's Wisconsins record against IU over, say.... The last decade?

  4. Tom Crean is an embarrassment to humanity.
  5. Blake Lalli only needed 14 to hit two. Oh, wait, due to small sample size we should just close the spring training thread. edit: and a nice defensive play that he got a standing ovation for too...
  6. He's still at 17 ABs, is he getting herpes treatments or something?
  7. Let's see, his wrist still hurts and that's his first home run in the homer-happy Cactus League. So, no. 8-20 with 2 doubles and a homer, plus 3 walks? I guess if Joe Mather is looking like Babe Ruth so far...
  8. Stewart homer, we've gotta be feeling good about his spring, no?
  9. Ok so it's cleary their strategy and Forte not going off on his own.
  10. Or to sour the relationship enough that they're forced to trade him, but that didn't happen with Briggs... Of course that was pre-twitter...
  11. Is he so warped now that he honestly believes this doesn't turn Bears fans against him?
  12. Yeah, every team needs 2+ quality backs. I like this move. It further reduces Forte's leverage and running backs just get hurt, so we need the depth.
  13. abuck, here is your replacement for White http://www.ctpost.com/news/article/UConn-s-Alex-Oriakhi-transferring-3424685.php
  14. Trey Burke is 'strongly considering' the draft apparently. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaab-the-dagger/trey-burke-strongly-considering-entering-nba-draft-putting-212742515.html
  15. Mainly because he threw a tantrum during the '09 tournament game Mizzou played against Marquette(and generally seems to have the on-court persona of a 7th grader). He's a fine coach. He danced on WVU's court in front of their student section after beating them earlier this year. I thought the students were actually going to attack him physically.
  16. He would strangle Crean after a blow-by handshake.
  17. they still use buses in the D-League, right?
  18. If Williams went to Illinois I could harass my co-workers about Marquette being a feeder program for the B1G. That would be fun.
  19. snitches get stitches
  20. in (maybe?) unrelated news, projected '13 UM starter Evan Smotrycz unexpectedly decided to transfer :( Brundidge too? Smotz, Brundidge and Christian the latter two weren't very surprising, but our PG depth remains practically nil at the moment I assume Hardaway isn't going pro? Burke? Starters Burke Hardaway GRob Morgan McGary

  22. I think he's making a huge mistake if he ever plans to leave this was the perfect spot for him. If he's content staying at VCU forever then more power to him. I'm still a fan. He may really want the Wisconsin job at some point. If he comes to Illinois, it will be hard for him to ever take it. Leaving a major conference program to go to a school in the same conference just isn't done (with one Tubby exception). Good point, and Bo has what 5 years left in him?
  23. This is not a slight of the Illinois program, it's not like Shaka is going to take some other offer next week. I think he's just HAPPY at VCU for now, he turned down offers last year too. He's in his early 30's and a multi-millionaire that's just been to a Final 4. He's comfortable in his surroundings and is a god in Richmond. He's made a program most people had never heard of before relevant.
  24. Man let me rant, Jesus. I'll never forgive you guys for Weber. And I'm mad you had Kansas beat out and blew it. Deal with it. It may or may not be Shaka but you have the cash and program to get a great coach. You will be fine.
