  1. LOL, the Pitt announcers want desperately to not resume play tonight.
  2. They want to at least get through the bottom of the 7th tonight according to the Pitt broadcast.
  3. Grounds crew is squeegeeing off the field, position players are warming up, but pitchers are not.
  4. Before the rule change this year, if they called the game, it would revert to the last full inning played. That means the Cubs lose if the Pirates could talk the crew into banging the game. With the rule change the game becomes a suspended game and will have to be completed at a later time from the point it is suspended. THanks for the clarification!
  5. Why would the game be resumed tomorrow? I thought if it's after the 5th inning, the team in the lead wins.
  6. Will Lilly get credited with the win tonight, or Cherry?
  7. NY/BOS was shown here in San Antonio too (after Cubs/Cards was being advertised). I had to double check to make sure I didn't have ESPN on! Speaking of which... I better not get double whammied this weekend with national broadcasts, as tomorrows game is supposed to be on ESPN.
  8. You're crackin' me up, Bob! This is somehow making me want a puffy taco, though! [an actual food here in SATX] also a mascot at the local minor league ballpark in SA That would be "Henry The Puffy Taco", mascot of the San Antonio Missions (Seattle's AA club).

  10. Do a Google image search on gynecomastia... looks like more than just puffy nips to me!
  11. No wonder Big Mac has been staying out of the public eye for so long....
  12. did i miss the positive steroids test on mcgwire? I'm pretty sure he admitted he took illegal substances that, at the time, were not specifically against the rules in MLB. the andro stuff? Isn't that available at GNC? On April 11, 2004, the United States Food and Drug Administration banned the sale of Andro, citing that the drug poses significant health risks commonly associated with steroids.
  13. so does murton. I'm not taking anything away from Murton... I'm just saying that I don't have a problem with Theriot coming in late in the game as a defensive replacement [although I would rather see him in the IF rather than the OF]. Matt's gonna get his fair share of playing time, i guarantee it!
  14. Even though he looked sketchy at best in the OF so far, Theriot does have a 1.000 FP, so I have no problem with him yet as long as he does his job and make plays.

  16. LOL!!! anyway.. for those with Time Warner Cable, they're offering the free preview from yesterday (the 5th) through the 15th. The channel lineup looks like it did last year, sharing with NHL Center Ice.
  17. Jeff Brantley was atrocious! My ears still bleed from listening to him blathering on.... and it's now going on 2 am! :x
  18. Yeah, I don't think I watched a single Rangers game last season, except for the Opening Day game I went to in Arlington. Didn't watch FSSW too much, because I think they showed the Astros nearly exclusively. Am I wrong? Did get to see some of the Rangers/A's game the other night, though. Naturally, I have a slight interest in them this year with Sammy on the team as well as McCarthy. Plus, I'm a Loften fan and like their lineup. Here in the San Antonio area FSSW is 90% Astros coverage and 10% Rangers.
  19. that pitch he kept throwing was insane, it had a huge break on it it was nice seeing Lou going out there and telling dempster to get his $#% together, wouldve never happened with dusty Yes. I'm actually impressed, that, considering our offense, we got 4 runs against a pretty dominating pitch like that. They say Arroyo got better when he switched leagues, but that pitch seems like it could be an even bigger reason. That pitch would be just as good in the AL. Last year we would never have gotten 4 runs against Arroyo, and that's a real indicator to me that they are a completely different and better offensive ballclub. I dont know why so many people bagged on Lilly on his past ERA, etc.. look at the division he pitched in while in the AL! Same went for Arroyo.. I can honestly see Lilly copying Arroyo in becoming an outstanding NL pitcher.
  20. I have to agree with you davhern. I grew up in the north suburbs and I always dreaded fighting the traffic on Irving Park Rd coming from/heading towards 94... same goes for taking the scenic drive down Sheridan Rd. along the lake. And the parking absolutely STINKS! Always has, always will... I always thought and said the Cubs should build a new stadium out near the Tri-State... JMO.
  21. I love Ronny, but it's time for him to retire.. man Bronson has some wicked movement!
