Yeah, I'm not quite sure why they would do that. I wonder how it will impact their future drafts. I never was able to understand why college baseball players were allowed to have advisors while basketball and football players would be put through the ringer if they tried the same thing. Fear that basketball and football players would exploit the system and get better leverage for themselves?

Sadly, you're correct. I believe it was the SI story that said Sam would be well off in an organization like Pittsburgh or Green Bay, but I think being in a low-profile organization like St. Louis, Arizona or Jacksonville would also work.
