Ozzieball strikes in Phoenix tonight. After a leadoff double by Rasmus, La Russa has Lopez bunt him over to third base. This brings up Molina, who has been striking out more and doesn't put the ball in the air even when he is right. Molina hits a grounder that is botched by LaRoche and Rasmus scores. The Cardinals back into a run and this small ball BS gets applauded.

I don't really remember. What happened in '99 in the NBA? I'm not sure. I think the lockout happened after the draft. Because '98 was the Olowokandi nightmare and '99 was the year Brand went No. 1.

My prediction: Cubs sweep. The Cardinals will fall short tomorrow because they'll be Norris'd.

That seems like a stretch. How so? They'll have possibly five seniors -- English, Denmon, Bowers, Moore and Ratliffe, a seasoned point guard and getting contributions from Pressey and Mitchell. They'll have guys who can score anywhere on the floor and have a defensive presence on the inside.

Holy cow, Missouri landing two JUCO All-Americans? What in the Bill Snyder got into CMA and company? Good health next season and they'll be back in the tournament. Championship contender in 2012.
