The staff has the potential to be dominant. Zito, Cain, Lincecum, Lowry and Sanchez is the foundation for turning things around. Trade the crap players on offense at the deadline to improve the offense and make some decent FA pick ups and this team "could" be right back in the saddle in 2009. Trade the quality arms, and you have absolutely no shot of turning things around anytime soon. That makes no sense, as none of the "crap" players on offense has any trade value whatsoever. Offensively the Giants are a AAA team - and not an especially good one at that. If you want an impact guy via trade, Lincicum and Cain are pretty much the only arrows in the quiver. Now, I would rather trade Cain than Lincicum and you can certainly debate whether or not Rios is the impact guy you want - but I think he is, and I would reluctantly make this deal if I were Sabean.
