  1. I wish you had left out the comma, Almora La Stella is a horsefeathers awesome name.
  2. For some reason the scoreboard at the top of Gameday updated to 3-0 before the "In play, run(s)" came up. I kind of enjoyed it more that way, knew it was a dong right away.
  3. In play, run(s) is not necessarily what you'd expect to see with Jon at the plate.
  4. soriano and cutler were/are both good and worth their contracts. Agree 100%, spent years defending each.
  5. Lucky for Heyward the Cubs are so damn good that the casual fan doesn't care about his ridiculous contract right now and the fact he's still under 1 fWAR mid-September. Either that or he's won over fans with his hustle and body language (something Soriano and Cutler didn't do). Either way, it's still amazing how little vitriol I've seen over his performance.
  6. This better be the last horsefeathering straw for seeing Hammel and playoff roster in the same sentence.
  7. Not sure about the other nights but he's 8-2 on MNF since arriving in Chicago.
  8. Capt Morgan stance opens them enough for cleaning, no spreading necessary.
  9. Texans front seven is going to make a lot of OLs look like horsefeathers this year. Not that Leno/Massie will ever be good tackles, but I'm willing to cut them some slack today. Wentz is in for a rude awakening next Monday. Faced a Browns team at home that might actually be worse than it was last year. Pretty fantastic way to make your NFL debut. I don't think our defense is formidable yet or anything, but I do know that it's a ton better than Cleveland's. That's enough optimism though. Not too worried about White yet but considering route-running ability/Football IQ was always the main knock on him, it really sucked having those fears validated, at least for one day. I'll give him at least 1 year before busting out my David Terrell jersey though.
  10. Nothing in the world better than a slice of NY Style the size of your head, folding it in half long ways and eating it without so much as a single napkin, much less a fork. Deep dish is rather inconvenient.
  11. Next to the two GB games this may in fact be the toughest game on the schedule. Won't face a defense like this for the rest of the season, although Minny's is pretty close. I think we lose this one but win the next three (two rookie QBs followed by Lions at home). This should by all accounts be Jay's best year as a Bear. Lots of bad defenses on the schedule, Jeffery and White back, similar offensive system from a year ago, etc.
  12. People are just so, so down on the Bears.
  13. the problem with forte was he could never dong. he was never a big play impact RB that could dominate a game. he was a good reliable and productive back for a relatively long time, but never a dongsman. Never a dongsman but he Szczur'ed a few in his day. He's just Kawasaki now.
  14. The problem with Forte is that he can't dong anymore. No runs longer than 32 yards since 2013.
  15. We're going to have Sitton and Long on the interior, and Langford is better than most people think he is. Run game will be just fine.
  16. Ummm....NO. ThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingNoTurkeyForJayThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingFavreThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgivingThanksgiving.
  17. Sure would be nice having Sitton out there blocking Watt. Hopefully they can get him up to speed quickly here.
  18. 63 of 64 from inside 40 yards since 2010, and a career 84.8% kicker. What's the problem? Gould for 3.75M or Barth for league minimum when they're essentially the same kicker at this point. Easy decision.
  19. Also you can't tell me Sanchez, Kaepernick, or McCown couldn't have been had for a 5th or 6th. Bradford's better but he ain't that much better.
  20. [tweet] [/tweet]
  21. Ah yes, the infamous "almost no-hitter then we don't even win" game.
  22. Pretty sure that tops my Capt Morgan wipe...
  23. Yeah dislocated knee is pretty much the worst case, and if there's any sort of vascular damage it could be career-threatening. According to Twitter players were "throwing up" around the injury site, and Teddy had to be sedated for his MRI. Not good at all... Hate to see that happen to such a young dude with his best football ahead of him.
