  1. Something seems off with him. Like he's possessed by an evil spirit. Best keep him away from here.
  2. Thank god we have Theo.
  3. Dave Cameron would be dumb enough to go work for A.J. Preller.
  4. Javy, when he saw KB walk out onto the field:
  5. Always a tough time of the year for Javy, having to meet all 24 of his new teammates.
  6. Miguel Montero being traded months after producing two of the biggest moments in franchise history because he five-hopped 6 throws to second is one of the funniest things ever. Anyway, no, I don't even remotely care what the time to home is for the SP with the best K/9 in the history of baseball.
  7. Which of the 16 World Champions are going to lead the clubhouse now that they no longer have 2 guys who joined them after winning the World Series and turned them into gutless chocking dogs?
  8. Not that this has anything to do with that tweet, but I can't see Matthew Trueblood's name without thinking about him writing this in June of Kris Bryant's MVP season: and also this:
  9. Fangraphs should hire Kato to rate prospects on a scale of "GARBAGE" to "FN SUCK."
  10. I'm not saying he's perfect. I don't think anyone is. I've certainly done things that would disgust a lot of people. But he does a lot of great things for kids. He's an inspiration for a lot of people that have went through what he has. He seems to have a zest for life. And, as far as we know, he hasn't beaten a woman and shot up his garage or anything. Plus, there are a lot of stories and instances of him being kind and thoughtful. Sure, there's bound to be bad to go with that good. But I don't feel all queasy rooting for him when he does something good on the field. As I said, I'm prepared to find out differently. It would devastate me unlike it would with any other athlete. But, with what I know, I do feel he has a good heart. I assume he was joking about your special set of abilities that seem to curse whoever you write positively about. horsefeathers. Flew over my head. *five seconds later* "We regret to inform you Anthony Rizzo is the Zodiac Killer."
  11. Also, I am envisioning all three of these happening: Darvish is top 2 in Cy Young, Chatwood has the best ERA on the staff, and Lester has the best fWAR on the staff. God-mode Cubs. 125 wins.
  12. I'm glad you gave the Chatwood option so I didn't have to write it in.

  14. Any time one of our players does something bad, I'm just going to plug my ears and pretend like Anthony is the only person on the team. I would be devastated to find out otherwise -- and I'm usually not deluded into thinking the best of athletes, or people, in general -- but Anthony genuinely seems like a great person.
  15. *A sober Theo shows up on Opening Day, fresh off another bender* "Holy horsefeathers, we got Yu Darvish?!"
  16. *Chris Gimenez is carried off the field after the 2019 World Series*
  17. I was a huge sucker for Juan Cruz.
  18. Usually I just like your good cross-posts on here, but I'll give this one a click-through.
  19. "I can't believe I ate the whole thing."
  20. Tied for second behind 2019.
  21. It's only fitting that the last post in this thread, before the off-season, was about the Mets and that this year's first post was also about the Mets.
  22. The funniest thing about that tweet is the $90 million part. So for the two years that have been completed, the Cubs spent about $50 million more on their 25-man opening day roster, according to Cot's. The 40-man year-end rank is a lot closer -- around $25 million difference. I'm not sure where the discrepancy is coming from and don't even care. Let's just go with that $50 million. WAR/$ isn't going to correlate well and it'd be silly to compare that way. But the Cubs in 2016 and '17 spent $50 million more for an astounding 26 more wins. The Cubs got significantly more bang for their buck. I don't see how you'd argue otherwise.
  23. This guy continues to show his ass on twitter. He's so bitter. [tweet] [/tweet]
  24. That was probably just PTR calling to ask Jay to return any Cubs apparel he still had.
