I've thought Kershaw should win the Cy Young all year. But, now I want Jake to win it. And I don't think it's that crazy. There's something to be said about his actual performance. I know in the defensive-independent stats that Kershaw looks much better. And I know Kershaw is still some type of pitching god, and he's the best in the business. But, I'm not sure that Jake's really had all that much BABIP luck. His batted-ball velocity is extremely low; he gets more groundballs than Kershaw; he gives up less hard contact and more soft contact than Kershaw. He's outperformed his peripherals, but I think it is genuine. I think he is just able to induce a lot of bad and weak contact, and can limit hits better than just about anyone. It's still really close. But, I want him to win it, dammit.

If we win the Wild Card, I am going to miss Game 1 of the NLDS, unless they play during the day. I help coach a high school football team, so I will be at our game. And they always announce Cubs and Cardinals scores over the P.A. system, too. So I am not going to be able to avoid hearing the outcome and watch it later on DVR. I'm really dreading it. I just don't know how I am going to deal with missing a playoff game.

How much are you expecting/wanting at this time, Tim? I just donated a little bit, under the assumption that I will donate more from time to time. But, if you would rather just have one lump sum to cover us for a year or two, I can donate more now. -
isn't that javy? I guess. In my mind, he isn't a rookie anymore. So...Bryant, CJr, Javy, Soler, Caesar, Addison & Schwarbs. That's one hell of a rookie class. He's not a rookie, but the one benefit of him being terrible and being sent back down is that he is now in their class, according to service time. So I am just gonna pretend that he is a rookie, so I can lump them all together.

I would expect Starlin could be a pretty good defensive second baseman. He's a -2.5 UZR/150 shortstop for his career. He was not that terrible there. Though, he's always been held back by the sheer amount of errors he's made, and that's what's dragging down his defensive numbers at second right now, too. So maybe the lapses will always hold him back defensively, even at second.
