  1. Hmm, if this is the actual Burt Macklin, then who is the other poster who has been passing himself off as Burt Macklin? http://i.imgur.com/ZNgzfn4.gif
  2. I'm sorry, Yinzers, but... Green Weenies? http://bloggersdelight-dk.bloggersdelight.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/blogs.dir/97863/files/2015/08/gif7.gif
  3. Yup, he was connected to FJM somehow or another. He was the best man at Michael Schur's wedding. They worked at SNL at the same time. I think he wrote a few FJM columns as a guest columnist.
  4. A 5:45 start time Friday for Game 1 is just the worst for me. If we win Wednesday, I am going to miss a Cubs-Cardinals playoff game. http://media.giphy.com/media/TlK63Er4gKHILXzNeA8/giphy.gif
  5. Yeah, if we get there and Lester wins Game 1, the phrase "must-win game" will be repeated ad infinitum before Game 2.
  6. In the last 40 years, only Mike Trout, Mike Piazza, Albert Pujols, and Nomar Garciaparra were worth more fWAR than Bryant as rookies.
  7. Bryant finishes the year at 3 DRS and 3.6 UZR at third base -- solidly above league average in both metrics. Pretty impressive for a guy that had his glove questioned a lot before the season.
  8. Of all players with as many innings as him at second, Addison Russell had the highest UZR/150. Of all players with as many innings as him at short, he again had the highest UZR/150. He also finished fourth in all of baseball in DRS at both second base and shortstop, despite playing parts of the season at each spot.
  9. This wait is going to be torture. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-2hQUkmBj_Q8/U9JpuOE7DjI/AAAAAAAAJfo/s6vdL6-LeOA/s1600/Wednesday.gif
  10. I'm predicting a complete game shutout. Starlin provides the offense with a dong and a double, and we win 3-0.
  11. This is a sadistic question. But, I would say 10, at least. And I say this mainly because I am not too worried about him missing that extra start in the Cards series. I mean, sure, it's not ideal. But, if we are going to win the whole thing, we are going to need other guys to step at some point. And he would still be lined up fine for the NLCS and beyond. And, [expletive], maybe we sweep the Cards and it's moot, anyway.
  12. Same here. I have been anticipating this game for the better part of a month now. It's go time. I'm not worried. But, I know I will be a miserable wreck once the first pitch has been thrown.
  13. YES!
  14. OMC with a very strong finish to get into the playoff rotation. A Hendricksian run to finish the year.
  15. Kris Bryant is obviously not a fan of round numbers. 99 RBIs and 199 Ks.
  16. Taking home field on the final day of the regular season would be sweet. I'm not too worried about it. But, if I were a Pirates fan contemplating facing Arrieta in Wrigley in a do-or-die game, after winning 97 games... it would just be torture.
  17. Game score of 104. Kerry Wood retains the record at 105.
  18. Surely there's never been a cycle in the same game as a no-hitter, right? One of my favorite bits of baseball trivia is that Willie McGee hit for the cycle in the "Sandberg Game."
