Without even looking I'm sure there was a Coghlan/Sweeney/Lake monstrosity somewhere in the 2014 season. True, those days are a haze for me. I pretty much meant, before we became good. But anyway, as much as I am hoping Al gets playing time, and believe in his talent, he is simply an auto-out vs RHP at this point in his career. And last year was a total outlier in him reversing his splits. I don't put much stock in that happening again anytime soon. He has much work to do in that respect. He's had 61 PA against RHP this year. Over half of those PA have come against RHP in the 6th inning and on, which are often guys out of the pen that are death on right-handed batters. He hasn't really been given the chance to face run-of-the-mill right-handed starters. His RHP PAs are largely against deathly relievers, because he is in the game for defense, after starting against a lefty or being subbed in. And his minor league splits aren't that drastic. The only year where there is a major difference is 2015, and that looks like some fluky SSS stuff against LHP. There's usually below a .100 OPS difference between the two. In nearly 2,000 professional PAs, his ISO is higher against righties.
