  1. Joe was thinking ahead to this very moment when he overused Chapman, knowing that it would completely break him eventually.
  2. I don't know if it is encouraging. But it definitely shows that the freak out is a little much.
  3. Theo is apparently on board with some folks here in that it doesn't matter what happens now that we've won a WS . No one's said that or feels like that. A lot of people aren't freaking out, because this team is still insanely talented. It sucks they've played like horsefeathers. But our frustration is lessened after seeing what these guys did last year.
  4. horsefeathers really? I guess that makes sense. Going from historically great to bottom 5 in def eff helps explain going from best starters ERA in baseball to bottom 5 in baseball. They're not bottom 5. Not sure where he is getting that at. They are middle of the pack. And it's kind of hard to turn balls in play into outs when Brett Anderson is giving up rockets all over the field. They're still top 5 in DRS, despite playing like horsefeathers on defense.
  5. horsefeathering hell. This was supposed to be the game where we snap out of it and go back to normal. Brett Anderson's shot into the sun. Jon Lester is Jon Lester again. And we horsefeathers around do this.
  6. Well, Lester had his Ace stuff tonight. Hopefully we don't waste it.
  7. Lester looks pretty good. Lots of swings and misses the last two innings.
  8. Good lord, these people at Mets Refugees are delusional. They all want to trade Harvey, but they think they could get something good in return. Who in their right mind would give up something of value for Matt horsefeathering Harvey right now? Every part of his body has been injured, he's been absolutely horrible when he has pitched the last two years, and he's a clubhouse cancer. He's ruined. And they still have no idea that things are never going to get better for them.
  9. I'd feel some comfort if Lester pitched well tonight. I feel like Arrieta and Hendricks are trending in the right direction after their last start or two. Lester's been going the opposite way, though.
  10. Also, I love Mekkes. Let's see what he's got against some tougher competition.
  11. Hedges doesn't get talked about much, but he's been very good the last couple years. I like him as a poor/homeless man's Hendricks. The strikeouts are going to be the most important thing for him with me. He seems to have a firm grasp on the control/ground ball/weak contact aspects. If he can keep his strikeout-rate reasonably high at the upper levels, I'll be a fan. I love what Ian Rice and Vosler are showing at the plate. It sucks that Rice can't actually catch. But it's nice to have some guys showing a presence at the plate at the upper levels, even if they are just random guys, hovering outside our top 10. I see Kyle Tucker hit a couple homers against Myrtle Beach today. I really liked him when I saw him last year.
  12. What a dumpster fire the Mets are. This all pleases me very much.
  13. Who needs Otani when he have a guy batting .400 with a 0.00 ERA?
  14. Well, at least Miggy got his career ERA under 4 tonight. His periphs took a bit of a hit, though.
  15. 6IP 4H 0R 0BB 6K 7 ground outs / 1 fly out
