    We all want them to hold on. But you don't think they are at this point, right? I have no idea. This team has repeatedly looked like garbage for a week or two and then suddenly kicks ass for a week or two. It'll come down to timing, unless they're finally just too beaten up and have too many guys just flailing away to finally swing back into the black like they've managed to do before. I do think we are too beaten up, too tired and too many guys slumping to hold onto this thing. For some reason, the VBs are not any of those.

    Umps are bad and should be shamed given any opportunity. The HP ump completely affected KBs AB last inning. Our hitters suck any way. He affected an at-bat that probably would have ended with an out because we suck. OK. No more venting.

    I don't even know who the horsefeathers he plays for. And as long as we have the second Wild Card locked up at worst, I don't think I really care.

    Nobody's blaming the umps like they're THE reason for this; it's just an annoying contributing factor to a team that's struggling. Yeah, I understand. But literally every thread, every one, has at least 15 posts each game about the strike zone or something else. Maybe not literally. I haven't checked. I don't know. I think I'm just bored with all the excuses and frustrated that we suck now.

    OK. OK. I love Duker, but I no longer ride with him. It's over. It sounds like we will for sure get one of the Wild Cards, but we are losing the division. I'm not even mad despite my hatred of the VBs. I'm past that stage.

    Also, if MLB insists the game needs to be played before Oct. 1, and if DC weather prevents it on Thursday, then Washington should play at Wrigley as the home team. I seem to remember the Rays or Marlins playing the Brewers at MIller late last season for the same reason.

    Yeah, hopefully in the end, this is PPD even before the Cubs board a plane back to DC.

    What's our leads on the two Wild Card teams? Like, we are locked into a second Wild Card at worst, right?

    Counting on, or hoping for, the Giants at this point was foolish any way.

    This probably isn't true, but I have a hard time believing they would pitch Max in a last game like that and not shut him down at that point and take a look at some youngster with upside. I want the game postponed so that they can go a day without playing and the game might not matter later.

    When Willy got on, I legit thought they were going to win. Then it was over 2 minutes later.

    I wouldn’t mind the lead off guy making Holland throw two strikes before offering at a pitch.

    I would like a rainout, the Brewers lose, we then sweep and lead by seven in the loss column by Wednesday night.

    If this game ever starts again, at least Doolittle will be out.

    I was looking at their lineup today...........and I honestly really don't know how they are going to score enough runs to do it. The VBs will score some off MadBum. probably the same way crappy teams win every day True. But I also have this belief that really crappy teams become even crappier in September when they stop even pretending to care. Except when we play crappy teams.

    You horsefeathers! You said the last out of the sixth was going to be the last out, and that means we would have won. Your fault. You are correct, I take the blame. What a horrible, horrible day. Need a big win from the Giants tomorrow. I was looking at their lineup today...........and I honestly really don't know how they are going to score enough runs to do it. The VBs will score some off MadBum.
