  1. Do me a favor. Nobody predict somebody donging or getting the walk-off. It puts too much pressure on the karma. #nopredictions
  2. This is completely amazing. Our offense being so consistently inept is.........somehow impressive.
  3. Prediction: Javy hits one that goes in the basket and you are pissed.
  4. You [expletive]. I thought they scored a run. And I was actually relieved. Just kidding. Sort of. For serious, though, Cubs will win this inning and I will go, "Fine."
  5. ok. finally. comeback is back on now baby! Even I don't have the power to get the offense to score a run.
  6. I feel very calm. I get the whole playoffs crap shoot thing, but listen, this offense isn't magically going to turn around this month. It's OK to accept this isn't happening and hope that we get healthy and retool in the offseason to make a run at it again next season. I don't think the Rockies will beat the Brewers, but after trying to convince myself otherwise, I'm damn sure the Cubs wouldn't.
  7. See, I think this is a positive post. Because yesterday you said we were going to lose this game (I think), and now even though we are down a run, you think we are going to win. I like where this is going.
  8. OK, boys and girls. I'm following the game via this glorious thread. Here's to some happy posts and good ones. And don't get too negative if a guy gets on first because it makes me think we gave up two runs.
  9. As much as possible, the manager needs to be based on whoever Bryce Harper wants to play for.
  10. I only have 5ish friends who are actual fans I’d say and them some family. The rest are extremely casual and only pay attention around the last month when the Brewers are good (which obviously isn’t often). All but 1 were cheering for the Cubs in 2016..... that being said horsefeathers them all, crush them in the DS and I’ll be rooting for the Rockies if it’s not us there. The problem is it's not just friends. It's everywhere. At work, I hear them talking about the Brewers. Outside of work, I hear people talking about the Brewers. I don't have any experience with hating any other fan base than this one. The Brewers ruin my baseball enjoyment because of my obsession of hoping they lose throughout the season and my panic attacks of them possibly making the playoffs. I got some real issues.
  11. horsefeathers, now I'm riled up again. horsefeathers the Brewers. ETA: Although no matter what, we won another title before they won their first. So horsefeathers off.
  12. I got congratulated by all of them in 2016, but it was fake as horsefeathers. I'm positive about it. There is no way Brewers fans were happy for us. None. Zero. So, you are just as good of a person as them. Actually, better. You are a horsefeathering Cubs fan.
  13. Today has been rough for people like you and I, and I'm struggling to deal with it. My main goal is for the Brewers to not win it all. And.........I sort of think the Cubs have a better chance to beat them than the Rockies. So I have to take the chance we lose by taking the chance that we have a better chance to knock them out, even though we'd have to win every game 1-0.
  14. dylan is a serious journalist, he was on cnn Please. I stopped riding with Duker in early September. Still respect him, of course. Also, Soccer10, this isn't me gloating about being right.
  15. TIL Bryant's Disco Ball has me on ignore Hahahahahahaha. Nice. My apologies for omitting you.
  16. I just want to know how you people even know each other's names? The only names I know on here are David, Tim and Aaron, and that's because two of them use their actual names and Duker writes for this place.
  17. it's weird that tomorrow night we could be super happy about the cubs again mlb playoffs are insane Hey, I think it's cool that they made you even care about a regular season game again.
  18. Sofa has tried this 1, 999,999 times and I don't think it's ever worked, but I'm willing to make it an even 2 million. If the Cubs come back and win this, R Mack will stop posting on this board for one year and I will buy an authentic Cubs jersey of whoever walks it off and donate $100 to the board.
  19. I don't know the answer to this, but thank God it's a question that can be posed.
  20. The interesting thing is, if the Cubs win tomorrow, it's pretty much like winning the division any way. Home field advantage doesn't mean crap, and we'd be starting with our best pitcher in Game 1. That said, I can't have the Brewers winning the World Series, so if the Cubs are going to lose to them, then somebody else needs to take them out.
  21. So, looking at it without personal interests and just pure baseball, who has the better chance of beating the Brewers in the divisional round, the Cubs or either the Rockies/Dodgers? Or pretty much a push because of the crap shoot nature?
  22. In just following the game via the board today, I think that's the part that actually hasn't gotten as much attention as the pitching and Joe. It doesn't matter what the starter or the bullpen does when you just can't score many runs off this team. As somebody said this summer, the Brewers seem to have the cheat codes for this offense. It's not like the Cubs don't struggle offensively at times any way, but it's a constant one or two or three runs at the most in the majority of these games against them. It's pretty crazy.
