  1. Welcome to the Game Threads Forum Hahahaha. True.
  2. Reading this thread it sounded like we had given up five runs or something.
  3. Everyone should have 3 days off; it's the greatest thing in the world. No matter how busy your weekend is inevitably you almost always still have 1 day to just do whatever. It's the best stress-killer. 3 days off would be awesome, but 2 days off in a row is a must. I pity my co-workers who have stupid schedules like Monday and Thursday off. You can't do [expletive] with that schedule And getting off at 2pm on Thursday and not working again until Sunday is basically 2 1/2 days off Yup. A two day off one is nice, but it always goes by so quick. When I get three in a row, it always feels like I was actually off for a bit. It's perfect. That said, I get screwed often times with the non-consecutive days off, and you're so very right, it sucks.
  4. I would trade Derwood's schedule for Sofa's schedule, but it isn't bad or anything. But the three days off in a row, and a shift where you don't have to get up early but don't work THAT late, is unbeatable.
  5. Eh, sort of; I'm technically private sector. Contractor and all that. Still pretty [expletive] cool.
  6. You want me to send you some money on paypal so you can get mlb.tv? I have it; can't use it at work. I thought you were a fed now. Feds don't work at night. Whut. I work 4 noon-10:30 shifts. Sleep in, no traffic and the weekend +Monday off. It's glorious. Wait. You're a FED? That's amazing.
  7. cherry pick? God you are ridiculous They had plenty of teams to trade with and chose not to. I get being disappointed, but again, you have no idea what the talks were like. There might have been demands that we pick up a bad contract. There might have been requests for players off our Major League roster. We just don't know. I can't be mad without knowing what they actually turned down. But, sure, I'm disappointed nothing worked out. But that's the breaks.
  8. Tough to be so sure. You have no idea what was being asked for.
  9. Which would be paid by the Phillies. Ain't nobody trading for him if not.
  10. I've arrived at the point where I think I've accepted that the Cubs aren't doing anything big. I went through the stage of denial when some tweets indicated as such, attempting to make myself believe it was just a negotiating ploy. But it's not.
  11. I've gotten nothing to add other than Ross Kimbrel would be so awesome. Kimbrel is a bad ass.
  12. http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/30765.png&w=350&h=254 Yeah, not even the same at all. How's that? http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/30327.png&w=350&h=254 Who the [expletive] is that?
  13. http://a.espncdn.com/combiner/i?img=/i/headshots/mlb/players/full/30765.png&w=350&h=254 Yeah, not even the same at all.
  14. By the way, we are still going to need a starter for Sunday.
  15. Not saying Theo is perfect, but these are the times when I don't believe we have to worry we gave up anything. At all. He knows what's up.
  16. Does this mean we don't have to pay him any money since the Dodgers picked up the bill?
  17. If it's just a trade for Ross, I'd have to imagine it would be Baez and not Castro or a prospect package with neither. I can't imagine the Padres trading Ross AND adding payroll in the process Edit: or do what Deeg said above and pay some of Castro's salary.
  18. lol i would've given up the cubs equivalent to that package in half a gd second And neither of those guys are rentals. And other than the one outfielder, was the package really that great?
  19. Kimbrel would be so awesome. Get it done. Please. And have Ross come along, too.
  20. I'm an Italian American too, so that means 50-50 credit. Are you eating pasta? Not at this exact moment, so I'm willing to concede 75-25 to you.
  21. I'm an Italian American too, so that means 50-50 credit.
  22. I think that's where the worrying goes too far. You have to be a bit patient. And I'm not talking about for a month or two. These guys will blossom over the course of a few seasons. You can see the talent is there. They are learning on the job.
  23. Except everyone is underperforming and it's feasible the gears could snap back into the place at any time. How long has this been said now? I know it was two weeks ago that I was discussing this with David and telling him the offense is what it is for this season. He didn't agree, and he still might not, but I think the statement will hold true.
  24. Not sure it will end up being that close. Brewers are a bad matchup for this team.
