  1. One step at a time. Let's just get a guy on base.
  2. Yeah, without checking, other than Dex and I think Miggy, nobody has really hit that much to start the season. Szczur Bryant has been fine since the first couple of games. Soler has been fine. This probably won't make sense even though in my mind it does, but those guys are hitting .250 or below. And so overall they haven't hit that much to start the season on a whole. ETA: Bryant and Soler, not Matt
  3. To add to that: he has played 10 [expletive] games and has also contributed to wins in like four different ways already. I'm just starved for dongs, I know he's excellent. Haha. I hear ya. But you are going to be hungry a lot if you are waiting for Heyward to fill you up.

  5. to add to that: To add to that: he has played 10 horsefeathering games and has also contributed to wins in like four different ways already.
  6. Nobody gets outpriced 10 games into the season. Right but if he has a huge year he'll probably attract a lot more attention. It's obvious he likes playing for the Cubs and am curious how that could play out. If he has a huge year and other teams are finally offering him three or four years for a lot of money, Dex is gone unless he wants to give a discount. Which he likely won't since he was willing to go to Baltimore had it given him an opt out.

  8. 1) It's not like he's really laboring. 2) Just because he's batting doesn't mean he's pitching anyway. 1. Good. Still take him out. 2. It's called a strained oblique and/or broken wrist. Being cautious? Yes. Don't care.
  9. The saving the bullets thing is a bunch of bull horsefeathers apparently. Don't care about his shutout. Take the dude out.
  10. Still, I'd rather see Rizzo and Bryant get more plate appearances than Heyward. I am not sure I'm a fan of the lineup order. Well it was averaging over 7 runs a game coming into today and you know that Joe will tweak it a million times this year because that's what he does so nothing to worry about. Plus entering today Heyward was still holding a strong OBP, setting the table for Riz and Bryant.
  11. Which in a way is good. Because if we are winning now, just imagine when they combine to go 20-45. We will win like more. But was wondering...I've watched every game so far and have been so mesmerized by the walks to not notice if any other guy but Dex has really actually hit much.
  12. 2008 was my fav Will never forget leaving the house and knowing the game was over only to learn a few hours later they won. Was stunned.
  13. Big at-bat here. Can't hit in a double play. Can't. Don't do it.
  14. I mean, he is going to hit like .275 with 12 homers and a .350 OPB. You are going to be incredibly frustrated by him if you concentrate so much on his offense.
  15. Not really directed at you, but I get the sense people are really gripping hard this year, almost like these games are extension of the postseason and they are all huge. Or nah?
  16. I feel like Soler has put together solid at-bats the last like 10 times up.
  17. Cubs fans were like that last season, too. I remember talking about it then.
  18. Totally hilarious the posts about Heyward and looking for big hits. So it begins.
  19. Relative to the Cubs, there are no good teams to face. I like this version of Hairyducked Idiot. I once alleged that you couldn't be happy or positive about anything. I am clearly wrong. Good for you.
  20. I'll always be willing to rehash it. It was and always will have been worth it. This is the coolest and most enjoyable Cubs team of all-time.
  21. Favorite part of the inning was the Soler walk.
  22. Ya think? My hazy memory eye test seems to think that he's about as pull happy as they come on this team. He does hit a good amount of opposite way dongs.
