  1. I like the lineup, but the Cubs mostly don't score runs against this team so I'm going to go with them not scoring many runs.
  2. Man, my respect for Descalso has gone way up. Kid has been fighting an ankle injury for months now, but tried to tough it out until it got to be too much. Glad he finally said something.
  3. I mean, I get Javy doesn't walk much, but it's not great that he hasn't drawn a walk since June 25, right?
  4. So, the strategy of not paying attention and just coming on the board at 10 p.m. did not work. I see that, outside those first two games against them this season, the Cubs just can't score runs off the Brewers. It feels brutal. I like when the Brewers play other teams because I am more confident in that team beating them than us.
  5. Starts on that page somewhere, he was mad people (or specific people) were responding to posts of his on a message board that wasn’t even his own ideas/content but largely other writers info. It was weird. viewtopic.php?f=3&t=39&start=1625 No wonder I don't frequent that forum. Seems like nothing but hot takes (ie guessing) about players who probably won't even make the majors. And then people getting mad about it. Back in 2012-14, that forum was the most exciting one on here each night. It was an amazing time.
  6. Yet he got 40 games counting when he was on leave during the investigation. Herrera got 109 counting the time he was on leave, Torres got 100 and Osuna got 75 so why did Russell get just 40? Because he's lucky enough to be employed by a scumbag org. I was thinking about this the other day. I've concluded all professional sports teams are scumbag organizations.
  7. 35 appearances and 22 saves. No sign he’s coming back this year. I guess it’s par for the course with Theos long history of botched FA signings, save for Lester. Theos not good with the checkbook. Maybe I'm stoned beyond belief but does Morrow really have 22 saves as a Cub? I can't really remember him throwing 22 pitches in a Cubs uniform. He did. He did. It seems like so long ago now, but that dude for the short time he was a Cub was pretty damn dominant.
  8. I legit think everything is on the table. I could see them making a big move that nobody is even talking about or trading for Eric Sogard and calling it a day. Or is it spelled Erik? Either way, same point. Sogard horsefeathering sucks and would be a waste of an acquisition. He’s had a hot few months here but his body of work proves he sucks. Galvis is the Jays infielder to get if we are dealing with them. Sogard and Descalso have basically the same career slash lines. Sogard had a wRC+ of 14 last year, his 17 with the Brewers was a hot May and June and then he was a sub 60 wRC+ player the rest of the year, the previous two years before that he was a sub 70 wRC+ player. His statcast stuff this year shows nothing he’s doing is sustainable, hard pass. Oh, yes. I'm not advocating for Sogard, just saying I could see them making one small trade and calling it a day. Agreed I would want that one small trade to be not Sogard.
  9. Is it wrong that I got mad reading "KB to the IL" as a choice on any list of awesomeness?
  10. I legit think everything is on the table. I could see them making a big move that nobody is even talking about or trading for Eric Sogard and calling it a day. Or is it spelled Erik? Either way, same point.
  11. I'm going to be firm in saying it won't be Bote. I'm going to be firm in saying it is Descalso.
  12. On a good note, Tom Ricketts' mom gave an anti-Trump campaign $3 million back in 2016. But, of course, then Trump threatened the family.
  13. The reference was to donating to his reelection campaign, so it's not an old thing. And it's been made clear in the past that they share the belief. Oh, sorry. Thought she had donated to his first election. That's disappointing.
  14. Also, before anyone starts to be disappointed in Cole Hamels, it might be interesting to find whether he supports Trump. I know of couples where the dumb ass in the family supports him and the spouse hates him. My opinion also is more harsh on people who still fully support him than who voted for him in 2016. I get how some would have just gone along with their party or didn't like Clinton, and didn't really know what many of us already did about the racist-in-chief. But now? Well, now I think if you fully support him you are piece of horsefeathers. Perhaps Hamels' wife or Cole himself supported him in 2016 but no longer do. It's possible. Sorry for getting political. I never have even cared about politics until dumb ass got voted in, and when he finally leaves, I will go back to not caring. Which I'm not proud of, of course. But provided we just have a normal person in office, I will be good.
  15. reminds of of the way they talked about his shoulder last year. sounds like a DL stint at a bad time Bryant said he’s playing Friday I have him coming back Sunday. I suppose he would know better than I would, but I'm sticking to that.
  16. Not real happy with the homer or nothing offense, but real happy with getting a win.
  17. I'm going to need more than 8 1/3 innings from Wick before I declare much of anything.
  18. That moment where you look back and go, "They could have ended it, and didn't. Now we going home as losers in the biggest game of the season." Or still shut this horsefeathers down and make it not matter.
  19. Yup. They extended him a little bit, and Albert took advantage by whiffing on three pitches.
  20. That was a good comeback by Bote, but the Cubs still need to capitalize. Score on a wild pitch, for all I care.
  21. It would really be wise to score at least one here. Or three. But at least one.
  22. He started mother horsefeathering things walking back to the dugout and got tossed. It was pretty weak.
  23. It certainly doesn't help somehow losing both Bryant and Rizzo during a commercial break.
