Even though it's only May, with Lester throwing 120 pitches, the offense scoring three runs off Chapman, Rizzo taking one for the team and Schwarber pulling a web gem, I really, really want this win.
I want the Bukie end of the game posts that read something like "the Cubs have the fifth best record in baseball. Not bad for a horrible team." I miss those. Bring them back soon.
The one thing Boone said that was right, is that for this team to be a game above .500 and suck in a lot of different ways has to be encouraging in a weird way.
Theo is apparently on board with some folks here in that it doesn't matter what happens now that we've won a WS . Hey, that's how things can be taken out of context. I'd like to think people are simply aware that it's a bit over the top to be too upset after we just won a World Series that each of us - except if you have like a 115-year old relative - has waited their whole sporting life to see.
Yankees fans have obviously been spoiled. But they have to be real excited by the fact that their rebuilding team is pretty awesome and none of their farm system guys are up.
Very very true i actually still want the cubs to win a lot Oh, me too. But it's hard for me to complain too much since they accomplished something six months ago that I would have sacrificed a lot of future seasons to secure.
I mean, so far in 2017 we are a slightly above average baseball team. We certainly have the talent to be a very good one as the season goes on, but that has not been the case so far. The good news is that we won a World Series in November, so I'll be content forever. Fooorever.
