  1. And also a thread about what we can get for Arrieta and Wade Davis at the deadline.
  2. Let's first worry about getting out of fourth place. With just over 4 1/2 months to go? But how? One inning at a time, man.
  3. Could be the start of our turnaround by seizing back first place. Let's first worry about getting out of fourth place.
  4. Maybe the Miggy speech can be this year's Heyward one. What's the story on this? He said after Game 1 that the Cubs have been taking things for granted and need to stop.
  5. So in Colorado this is like a 2-0 lead or something. Have fun and keep scoring.
  6. Maybe the Miggy speech can be this year's Heyward one.
  7. Rockies are playing Cubs defense. I'll take it.
  8. Yeah, even when we get out of the first it still seems we get bombed by the third. This statement might not be true.
  9. I remember thinking the Cubs weren't going to make the playoffs in June 2015 because their hitting sucked, only to see them go off in the last three months and win 97 games. So I've learned things can go from bad to really good in a hurry, especially when you've got talent. I'm convinced this is more a hangover from the Series, even if the players don't want to admit it. Some posters on here the other day were saying it's hard for them as fans to get that intense about a May game after going through that gauntlet six months ago. I'd think it would be multiplied by 1,000 for an actual player. And, hell, maybe you relax a little after ending that drought. Having watched almost every game so far this season, this team is just off and playing well below their capabilities. Starting pitching sucks. The defense has been spotty and the offense has underwhelmed. We've had to stage big comebacks multiple times to beat average or below average teams, and we just haven't been stomping people down the way we are capable, not even for a short stretch. But we will see. I usually don't know what I'm talking about, so that's a good sign.
  10. I know salaries can get high, but damn I'd be depressed if my team signed Arrieta to an AAV of $28 million and for seven seasons. I wouldn't even come close to that. i was playing with david Oops. My bad.
  11. i don't see why not, he looks pretty good I know salaries can get high, but damn I'd be depressed if my team signed Arrieta to an AAV of $28 million and for seven seasons. I wouldn't even come close to that.
  12. Need to look at the positive. We at least have Lackey pitching tonight to save us from going below .500. Lackey in Coors seems to be a good matchup.
  13. Well, they listened. I'm willing to press my luck and now ask them to stop sucking.
  14. Slowing down because Kyle called him off (clear on the replay) That isn't how center field works. Maybe Almora didn't want to Fowler him and decided to just let the big man try to catch it and get out of the way.
  15. Man, I thought we were a slightly above average team. I gave us too much credit.
  16. Our defense has made so many glaring errors this season. I'm surprised by that.
  17. Let's just try to, at worst, only be down by two after the first inning and we will be fine.
  18. last season the cubs didn't lose their 15th game until this April You want to take another stab at that? Ding Dong is known to have fun with stats. His stat is what he meant.
  19. Man, for a May 7 (and 8) game, this was about the worst case scenario.
  20. That's pretty fitting at least. We have thrown a ball away about 17 times this season.
