I remember thinking the Cubs weren't going to make the playoffs in June 2015 because their hitting sucked, only to see them go off in the last three months and win 97 games. So I've learned things can go from bad to really good in a hurry, especially when you've got talent. I'm convinced this is more a hangover from the Series, even if the players don't want to admit it. Some posters on here the other day were saying it's hard for them as fans to get that intense about a May game after going through that gauntlet six months ago. I'd think it would be multiplied by 1,000 for an actual player. And, hell, maybe you relax a little after ending that drought. Having watched almost every game so far this season, this team is just off and playing well below their capabilities. Starting pitching sucks. The defense has been spotty and the offense has underwhelmed. We've had to stage big comebacks multiple times to beat average or below average teams, and we just haven't been stomping people down the way we are capable, not even for a short stretch. But we will see. I usually don't know what I'm talking about, so that's a good sign.
