  1. We have three walks tonight. We had two or fewer in each of the previous nine games. Does that seem low or is that normal?
  2. Can we all agree that we should just score a ton of runs the rest of this game and stop making every walk and/or bad defensive play matter so much?
  3. That was catchable without leaving his feet Flipping Almora has poisoned this team.
  4. J-Hey killed us. Let's take responsibility and not blame umpires for our shortcomings. It's too easy.
  5. Something has to be wrong with J Hey's eyes, right? Whether it's the sun during the day or a bank of lights at night, he is struggling big time with it this season.
  6. So many facets of our Cubs suck so bad right now.
  7. Worked out well for us, though. Gifted a run and Lester didn't have to start throwing and then sit and throw again like Wacha.
  8. Well, that was a rather fortunate run to score.
  9. Let’s first just get the guy home from third.
  10. I could see the Cardinals somehow feeling like they have to throw at KB’s groin tonight.
  11. Well, I think the hope is that he's a very solid pitcher, no matter what number in the rotation somebody decides to spot him at. His salary and his years just aren't long enough or large enough for a big market team for me to care about. That, and I don't think he's going to be some black hole.
  12. The only one we really invested big-time into at this point is Yu. Eloy still has to become a stud for us to really have invested anything into Q, and Chatwood is on a three-year contract that will be over in a blink of an eye, while really only making No. 4 or No. 5 starter money any way and performing like a No. 4 or No. 5. Yu for sure has to pick it up. Can't be tanking in the first year of a six-year, $126 million contract. Having two of those guys with Heyward and Yu would suck even for a big market team. no. eloy was going to be traded for some pitcher. we chose Quintana. it doesn't matter if eloy ends up sucking. also chatwood's money is not insignificant, especially with Heyward on the books. Good point on Eloy. Still don't agree on Chatwood. He will be just fine as a back of the rotation guy making $12 per for three seasons.
  13. Watching sane posters get crushed under the weight of negativity is interesting. Not criticizing you right now or singling you out. Just interesting I mean it's too early to say that's what's happening, but it easily could be. We invested a massive amount of resources in darvish/quintana/chatwood and they're completely broken walk machines. Yeah the stuff is fine or whatever, but I don't know how you can not be terrified by what they're doing, and by what ot means for the organization going forward if they dont turn it around in a big way. 14. Not yet.... 2017: 16-14 2018: 16-14 What a time to be a Cubs fan. Never thought I'd be so annoyed with being over .500 in early May. When the records are pointed out and they are both above .500 in both seasons, it's just fascinating.
  15. The problem is, this year isn't supposed to be one of them. There will be plenty of those when we have to pay all the young guys, these are the years we should be cruising there Can I give a take that clearly is ignorant and not true? The Cubs won the biggest championship in the history of sports in 2016, and since that time, whatever having an edge means, they lost it because of that.
  16. If we don't dominate the Marlins and White Sox at home next week I'm jumping off the ship. Just kidding. Well, actually, maybe not kidding.
  17. It's difficult to consistently make the playoffs. We are only one of two teams right now to have made the postseason in each of the last three years. Sometimes I forget that there will be a year again when we don't.
  18. Man, this has been a rough stretch. Just don't feel good about the game right now.
  19. What sucks is that we'd win this game if we can get out of this inning. But it just seems tough to get out of this inning with a Triple A pitcher on the mound who just walked the lead off guy.
  20. I'm calling a double down the line. A lined shot that feels so good. Damn you. I was thisclose to winning that one.
  21. How cool would it be if a pitch in the dirt on a strikeout led to a single by Vic and a one-run lead, and then we closed it down in the bottom half of the inning?
