  1. I like the winning part. But didn't we win a bunch of boring games scoring one or two runs? Please, don't take any of this to mean that I think the actual team sucks. But there have been so many long stretches of absolute boredom on offense for a team that should be donging, etc. We had one series when we swept the Brewers in 4 games by winning a bunch of low-scoring games. I'm not sure how close games with first place on the line are boring. But if that's not your cup of tea, we just scored 13 runs in a game against the Cardinals. There's been a mix of close low-scoring games and games where the Cubs provided a lot of fireworks. If you can't enjoy this team, you'll probably never enjoy baseball again. Sorry to say. More power to you, Duker. I hope everyone agrees with you. I've just found the offense really boring for the most part this season. But they have been boring for first halves before and turned it on in the second half (2015).
  2. You might have had me until your last sentence. Do you not enjoy good baseball games against divisional rivals? Ones that have had numerous walkoffs and late-inning rallies? Ones we're 11-8 in this year? I like the winning part. But didn't we win a bunch of boring games scoring one or two runs? Please, don't take any of this to mean that I think the actual team sucks. 3. I honestly don't think that's been the case this year. Or maybe they have been boring more often and it just feels that way. Because in like 70 games, there has been a lot of boredom. We even had like the most boring five or six game winning streak ever. We're playing at a 94-win pace. We continually make highlight reel plays on defense and on the bases. Javy Baez is a member of our squad. Jason Heyward hit a walk-off grand slam. We've had a ton of exciting divisional match-ups with the Cards and Brewers. You might have had me until your last sentence.
  4. They're very fun and very awesome far more often than they are boring. I honestly don't think that's been the case this year. 5. As far as entertainment value, the Cubs are waaaay too boring too often for the talent they have.
  6. I'm not a pitching guru, but I feel like Monty isn't sharp tonight.
  7. OK, Cubs. There is your break. Now take advantage and score five or six runs this inning.
  8. I really agree with this. If they would just be league average in that one aspect we all talk about, the bullpen would be such a smaller issue.
  9. Don't forget Tommy striking out with runners on second and third and one out. Cubs played with fire a lot today and it finally just caught up. This horsefeathers happens almost every game. They have a really good offense that can't take advantage of essentially gimme situations to even scratch out a single run to a degree that makes absolutely no logical sense whatsoever. Absolutely.

  11. This actually doesn't irritate me at all. This was a really, really poorly played game in the late innings by the Cubs. Would have loved to win, of course.
  12. I'm quite sure this is every baseball game, but the Cubs are doing all the little things in the later part of a tight game -not executing, shaky defense, issuing walks - that sometimes leads to giving a win away.
  13. From not making contact with a runner on third and one out to all this defense, this has been a rough few minutes for the Cubs. Hopefully, they get out of this and win the game.
  14. We all want to win every game, but taking two of three on the road against the Cardinals in which they had their top three starters going, that is really solid and something to be satisfied with.
  15. In the end, at this point, the Cubs have allowed two runs no matter who they used to get there. It's not their fault every run is magnified because the offense sucks again.
