  1. I will say, that was a good recovery by Duesning to get Hamilton and not let the grand slam by the pitcher unravel him.
  2. The Reds with two outs have scored what we do in a week. However, if you pretend the Reds are the Cubs, this is really fun.
  3. If the Reds stopped scoring right now, we have a 50-50 chance to win. But I forgot they might not stop scoring.
  4. The offense is going to find some consistency, hopefully. Nearing July, they are scoring three or fewer runs more often than any of the previous three seasons since we have been good. It will turn around. Maybe let's have it happen tomorrow. 2018: 49.3 percent (36 of 73 games) 2017: 40.1 percent 2016: 34.6 percent 2015: 43 percent
  5. OK. I'm going to pull a Sofa and leave the house and hope things turned around.
  6. Dongs with guys on base can really help increase points in a hurry.
  7. I typed that and then he hit it. I still had the thought.
  8. Riz will pick up the RBI here. ETA: This is a post for later in the game.
  9. I was just teasing you. We're good in my book. The complaints were fine. I just thought the thread seemed like everyone was attending the 2018 Cubs' funeral. Just wanted everyone to not forget about all the good stuff. It was a good reminder, Duker. Consider it part of your 93 percent correct rate.
  10. I would like to apologize to Aaron and the entire Northside Baseball community, except for R Mack and that one poster who pretended to be a Cubs fan but was a Cardinals fan who got mad when someone ripped on their infield defense, for saying the other day that the Cubs offense has produced a lot of boring TV for me this season. After speaking with a KC Royals fan last night who really does know boring TV, and with our offense in the top 10 in runs, OBP, average and slugging, it was an irresponsible statement. My expectations are for a Super Team, and they have been one. It’s pretty ignorant of me to not be satisfied.
  11. That loss still doesn't bother me for some reason. They didn't play well and were getting somewhat lucky to be holding on until they didn't. Two out of three, especially since the wins are each of the last two.........that loss is already forgotten.
  12. Rizzo probably should have stayed on third, right?
  13. Tell him he can fix his mechanics by taking his pants off and putting them back on repeatedly. I know I could just like this, but I feel like it's not doing this post justice to not quote it.
  14. I think Sofa went to bed. I wonder if the Cubs do much better with guys on third and less than two outs when he's sleeping?
  15. Two runs in ten innings. But damn was the last five seconds of the 3 hour show horsefeathering awesome.
