  1. sarcasm? Dude threw seven pitches. Why would that be sarcastic?
  2. We just need to get KB, Riz and Willy in a groove together and this will all be real fun again soon.
  3. Just stating facts. I think it's odd people hate the best Cubs' teams of their lifetimes. Also a fact: this team was a massively not fun suckfest in the first half last year. By the end, the NLCS run was awesome, and as a whole, the year was a success. But to pretend that on a day-to-day basis the team was fun to watch is revisionist history. And despite the good overall record/pace right now, the team is not fun to watch as often as it is a blast to watch I do wonder if that's because we have quickly become spoiled, which is a good thing because it means the foundation is strong. For instance, 2015 was fun because we were good again for the first time, but we were 40-35 at the end of June and the offense sucked a lot. It scored three or fewer runs 50.6 percent of the time through 75 games, which is .6 percent more than this season. But........being five games over made it fun to follow and watch because just being relevant mattered. Then 2016, and well, it didn't suck very much. At that point, we were expecting a 105-win Super Team in 2017 and probably 2018, too. So when we enter with Super Team expectations, it's going to likely fall short. It doesn't mean they have to be this boring for this long on offense, but I do wonder if we had sucked the last few seasons just how boring we'd all think this is right now. Like Sofa, not sure what the hell I'm even talking about. Except, I actually understand what he was trying to get at a few posts above. So, really, I'm the only one who doesn't know what the hell I'm even talking about. Also, I still want Machado, and I want Dexter back on the team for the fun of it.
  4. One more thing, I know it doesn't make a ton of sense, but I really would like Machado for the rest of the season.
  5. Bottom line? Duker is right 93 percent of the time, and it's even a better rate when he predicts the most important stuff, i.e. where our team will finish at the end of the season etc. Right now, I trust Duker even more than I trust the Cubs.
  6. And that guy who pretended to be a Cubs fan but got mad about an insult toward the Cardinals' crappy infield defense.
  7. Did you know? Entering Sunday, we have scored three or fewer runs in exactly half our games this season. That 50 percent mark is quite high for us during our good years. ETA: However, a team like the Nationals also have scored three or fewer the same number of times, and have only played a few more games. Maybe their offense sucks this year and I haven't been paying attention, but at least it's not crazy or something.
  8. Feel like this is an extension of your RD theory, but not really sure.
  9. Wondering if going against good pitching might help the offense.
  10. Pretty much have nobody left. Would I have gone to a position player? I really would have.
  11. Uh oh. I'm bad again. Somehow is no more. To be fair, you really didn't believe it. You were just somehow trying to start a rally. Therefore, this does not count against your 93 percent success rate.
  12. If Javy could dong here, things would get interesting. Not real interesting, but something.
  13. Bullet officially dodged. Have to admit, that was pretty awesome to see.
  14. Would hate to see us give that run right back.
  15. How crappy would Dexter have to be and for how long before the Cards would release him? Next year? Year after? Or would they always find somebody to trade him to even if they had to eat a lot of the contract? I'm pretty sure he'd be good again if he was on our team.
  16. Have not felt this good since we put up four runs in a game earlier this week.
  17. This is the inning. We will score at the very least a second run.
  18. Thanks to Tommy for providing some entertainment. For a second, I really DID think there was catcher interference.
  19. I want to see a hit by Almora just to keep this going.
  20. I was joking. You might be joking but a lot of Cubs fans are going to be upset when they don't end up trading for Machado Wait. Cubs fans? Upset? Noooooooooo way.
  21. Unless the Cubs are clear World Series favorites like in 2016, trading players for a rental you can just sign in the offseason is incredibly dumb. Machado makes little difference in a playoff series, and even less of a difference in a one game fluke which they're currently in. I was joking. ETA: Well, I would like Machado depending on how boring the players are we have to give up.
  22. I take back my apology. The Cubs' offense is boring as horsefeathers and I was right to be bored all along. Go get me Machado, Theo. I don't care what boring players you trade to get him.
