  1. Soler is Bryanting this damn league.
  2. Today was the first time he's pitched since 6/22, so I'm guessing he's dealing with a minor injury or fatigue or something.
  3. hot gam thread taeks funny joke, you dork. search.php?keywords=bosio+racist&terms=all&author=scrubmd&fid%5B%5D=26&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search
  4. I really really hope there's a team that wants to trade for Jackson.
  5. About time we got some production out of that damn trade.
  6. If he mashes for the rest of the year, it's possible. He kills AA, gets a couple weeks at AAA, gets a Sept call up and performs well. The cost-incentive is reversed with Soler, if he looks ready, they're wasting money keeping him down.
  7. I just realized that it's entirely possible that Russell and Soler will join Alcantara, Baez, and Bryant (and Manny) in Iowa at some point this year.
  8. But people are saying that Soler fell because of injuries therefore Buxton has to fall because of injuries. It's a huge leap. Not really, if you believe wrist injuries are far more concerning to a hitters' long term success than broken shins and hamstring sprains. I wouldn't even drop Buxton lower than, say, 3 (behind Correa and Bryant). So you are whining about a lack of falling by 2 spots? 1) disagreeing with you isn't whining. 2) it's a bigger deal when it's the #1 spot (bigger deal in the prospect ranking sense, not in the sense of actually being a big deal)
  9. Someone split our farm system into two Top 10's in the MiLB forums, it was just copy and pasted Hey that was me!
  10. It's not just (or even primarily) his injuries. It's that Parks is down on Soler as a player compared to most other pundits. He has made these confusing judgments on his approach at the plate (very odd because he has one of the best in our system based on the results and plate appearances themselves) and he says he doesn't have the ability to make quick adjustments (based on what? - I have no freaking clue). Well, that's ridiculous (Soler's approach is probably his best attribute) but at least that might mean BP isn't grading Buxton and Soler differently when they both have injury histories. The fact that they both have injuries does not mean they should be graded the same because of those injuries. Buxton is 2 years younger, plays CF and has almost twice as many professional PA as Soler, who has yet to play even a full half season. Nobody is saying Soler is better than Buxton, but wrist injuries are a big deal.
  11. I'm not saying Buxton sucks, I'm not saying Soler's injuries are not a concern. I'm saying if Soler's injuries this year knock him down 30+ spots, you'd think Buxton's would move him from the #1 spot. I think Soler towards the back end of the top 50 and Buxton at 3 would be good.
  12. As Raisin pointed out, it's multiple wrist injuries. If Soler's injuries take him down 30 spots or so (I think he was in the 20 range before), Buxton's should at least unseat him from #1.
  13. Zagunis has been really good at Boise. OPS over 1.000, OBP over .550. He has 7BB/5K in 36 PAs.
  14. Lindor above Baez and Russell and a lot of other people is crazy to me. He wouldn't even be in my Cubs top 5. I'm very glad that trade didn't happen. Buxton still being at #1 is a little silly. Soler has done nothing but destroy the ball when healthy, yet he plummets. Silly silly silly.
  15. I'm guessing those 20 aren't in order.
  16. I know he hasn't pitched an inning in the majors yet, but Hendricks is one of the most impressive Theo acquisitions to me, from a scouting perspective. Was he on anybody's radar before we traded for him?
  17. I was just going to ask the same thing. Hope he's not hurt. Seems about the number of pitches he'd throw in a side session between starts. Good chance they're keeping him loose for Tuesday.
  18. Hendricks lifted after 2 innings. Injury or looming call up?
  19. Wait until mid-March and then declare he's moving to RF and needs some time to acclimate. I still picture him making troll face when he makes the announcement.
  20. Next April, how is Theo going to say that Bryant needs more time at AAA without giggling?
  21. I always assumed he'd need a little time to adjust there, but I never really considered what his normal numbers would look like if they end up being inflated further by the PCL. If he Brett Jacksons and loses 400 points of OPS between AAA and MLB, he's still an .800 OPS player. .861 to be exact, basically Anthony Rizzo. Lol Bryant.
  22. Bryant Bryants. #30 on the year.
  23. If you just put your finger over the walk column, Black's numbers always look so good.
  24. And hopefully it has nothing to do with instructing younger players...except for like, teaching them to have a good attitude, maybe.
