  1. The numbers are on the previous page
  2. True and all those guys are younger than Appel (so maybe have slightly more room to grow/improve than him) and also, conceivably, should have less innings/pitches on their arms.
  3. Holy cow. In other news, Daytona will be rained out. I don't know how much longer their season even is, but shouldn't the consider shuffling some of the more relevant prospects around to Tenenessee and Peoria, where they actually play more than once per week? The guys who should really be considered are Baez, Villanueva, and Torreyes. There's Whitenack, but he's on the DL. As TT said there isn't much time left so no real advantage doing that. Probably better to let the guys finish out the year where they are and take time off. Most of the guys will play some sort of fall league/instructions or winter league I'd imagine, right?
  4. I'd hope we go the Houston route, take a consensus top 5 guy but know he will sign around slot/below so we can get 2-3 first round talents later. Also at least this year Appel will lose some leverage as he won't be able to play the going back to college card. I would imagine eventually he'd cave, I'd think he'd take less than #1 overall money to start his MLB career in the minors rather than going to an independent league for a year or so and make less guaranteed money up front.
  5. They are talking on BF.net about Aramis possibly winning the gold glove. He ranks 2nd in the NL in UZR/150 behind Wright (8.3 v 10.7), Tied for 2nd with Headley for UZR behind Wright (4.3 v. 7.3), he's third in rzr at .753 behind Headley .756, and Freese .784, and most importantly what the voters look at most he leads the NL and all of baseball in fielding% at .974 and has only made 6 errors which also is the fewest in all of baseball. Add in he's having a good year offensively (which always seems to come into play) I think he has a chance.
  6. He actually did only go one inning last time out, Aug 22nd. But he did have 3 K's.
  7. Holy cow. In other news, Daytona will be rained out. He pitched a few days ago, I want to say like last Wednesday or Thursday, think he went a few innings out of the pen and did well. He ended up not having TJS as was first reported months ago

  9. You have no idea.... viewtopic.php?f=6&t=61306
  10. I don't mind the strategy, as long as your league doesn't go nuts on QB's in the first round you should be able to get one of the second tier QB's like Cutler/Ben/Schaub/Romo/Ryan/Eli/Peyton/Rivers/Vick(he might drop a bit with his injuries) with one of you next two picks (assuming you go back to back on round 2-3 picks) so you could go one of those guys and then BPA available at WR/RB.
  11. The wind must be blowing in pretty good from CF/LCF tonight. Soriano killed that and Dejesus hit one out there good in the 1st too
  12. How many wins over the course of a year do you think a manager can cost his time by not having the most optimized lineup out there like Dusty is doing with the Reds (ie not having the guys with the best OPS/OBP hit at the top and getting more PA's)?
  13. Drop Bautista, Add Granderson Not that I stand a chance to win but what the hell. I think I have one roster move left
  14. Recker is actually younger than Lalli. Plus, his middle name is "Vito". Sold. Extend him now to avoid FA in the offseason!
  15. Dusty would rather have his bases clogged in the spot in front of his pitcher so he can give away outs and bunt and stuff.
  16. He has too small of a sample size probably for any sort of metrics (UZR, dWAR, etc) to be accurate or indictive of what he really is right now.
  17. And God Damn't bring Ryno in to be the coach. Why isn't Ryno the coach? He continues to get screwed by the organization, why isn't Ryno the coach?
  18. I agree, but if he's the starter in week 13 chances are he's doing okay and the Seahwaks are having a decent year. Or absolutely everything has blown up and they basically are on a QB by committee and it's Wilson's turn to start again and both he and Flynn are sucking.
  19. That's real nice and plays into the Bears having a pretty easy schedule at first glance. But by the time they get to 4 of those games it would mean those guys are at least doing alright/not complete disasters as they don't play Wilson (week 13), Ponder (week 12/14), and Locker (week 9) until the 2nd half of the year.
  20. Sproles
  21. He's probably going to have off until the middle/end of the week at best with the TS/Hurricane going through Florida.
  22. What's the attendance like tonight at the Dodger game?
  23. He has been bad, but this was probably his best game. Two hard line drives to CarGo and a fly out to the warning track in CF. He's also struggled pretty bad at every level every time he's been promoted at first and then figured it out. Not saying it's going to happen at the ML but that's worth considering as well.
  24. Is it too much to ask of him to get his K% down to about 25%, come on Brett. That's all we want.
